I have a Kia Sedona. The button on the gear shift has been getting stuck on and off for about a week. I give it a little hit when it got stuck and it would release. then yesterday when I put the car in park it wouldn't shut off all the way and I couldn't get the key out. Any suggestions?
I have a 2008 Kia sedona. So this is how mine works. On the back side (the side closest to the radio) there are two screws. Take them out and pull up on the gear shift knob. There should be a white angled piece of plastic sticking up. Put a little bit of white lithium grease on that and if you can get some up inside the button area it would help. You may have to clean to shifter knob while it is off. Put it back together and you should be good.
Mist the switch with a small amount of windex then blow it out with canned air.

I have a 2002 Kia sedona. I have to use a screw driver everytime to release it out of park. Why?
I have a 2008. The above worked for me. I squirted some CRC Lithium inside the shifter knob and worked the button a few times. I then shot some down the shaft under the white piece of plastic. All is good. Thanks for the post.
