That's not a remote starter on your key chain, it's a keyless entry for an alarm system.

SOURCE: 1997 wrangler starter removal

alot of the time the line up dowels rust into the block. usually soaking where the starter meets the block with a rust penetrant and wiggling the starter around does the trick

SOURCE: how do i remove a starter from a 1995 jeep wrangler

Raise vehicle, disconnect negative battery cable. remove two nuts and wires holding cables with approx 3/8 socket. It will probably be metric.

Then remove two retaining bolts holding starter. remove starter
Reverse procedure to reinstall.

SOURCE: Removing doors from Jeep Wrangler - Dome Light Stays On

I have a 97, and my fuse for that is behind the glovebox. Open the box, slide the end of the strap to disconnect it, then remove the box. The fuse is marked. Something like "Dome lt. elim." I think it's located one up from the bottom right. This can actually be done without removing the glove box. For a more permanent fix, quadratec.com has a switch that plugs into the fuse location and mounts under the dash, so you can just flip the switch. Hope this helps.

How to step by step guide on replacing starter in 1993 ford jeep wrangler yj 4x4

well im not sure that the Ford part is.. but on your YJ its pretty simple, 1.disconnect the battery 2,disconnect the power leads to the cylanoid (its mounted to the top side of the started) 3.remove the starter mount bolts and slide the started our of the transmission Note: sometimes its necessary to remove the mount bolts and and remove the starter from the transmission in order to gain good access to the power wires. you can either have a partner hold the starter for you once its loose or use a bungee cord to tie it up while you disconnect it. 4. installation is reverse or removal Note: on re-manufactured starters it may be necessary to shim the starter. if after installation it grinds on the flywheel then you know it needs to be shimmed, most re-mans will come with a set of shims. hope this helps, and for the record most men who think they know alot about cars or talk like they do dont know jack diddly. i know a couple women who are fantastic mechanics.

2000 4.0 6 cyl jeep wrangler cant remove two top tran to engine bolts. not enough room for wrench. how do you get them out?

You have to remove the tranny mount and slowly lower the rear of the tranny which will then give you enough room, with a few long extensions, to unbolt those top two bolts.

Does a 1998 Jeep wrangler starter require a shim? Replacement starter is leaving a 3/8 " gap when mounted.

You likely don't need shims in fact that will make it worse. The replacement starter is likely a starter that will work on your vehicle but is not the same model as the starter that you removed. If this is the case then you will need shorter mounting bolts or a stack of about 4 washer between the bolt heads and the starter.Usually the rebuilt starters are made from cores that are the cheapest to rebuild so it is likely that this is what has happened.

Repair manual packed up just need to make sure I am taking the starter out correctly in my 1989 Jeep wrangler...there should be 2 bolts--correct? It appears that these bolts need a torque wrench...does...

You don''t need a torque wrench to take out bolts. When all bolts are removed, the starter should be free. You may have twist and turn it a little to get it clear of the flywheel.

Oil pan removal on a 97 jeep wrangler

Instructions can be found in any basic manual but the simple version is to remove anything obvious that will be in your way (starter, trans lines etc). Disconnect both engine mounts and raise engine to get better clearance (watch stuff on top so you don't break anything) I usually stuff a couple of 2x4 wood blocks between engine & mounts to support it. Remove all pan bolts and take it down (remember pump pickup will interfere) Do what you need to do, then reverse process.

How do i change a oil pan geskrt in a 94 jeep wrangler/

On most, you need to remove all bolts around the perimeter of the pan, (You may want to remove starter to get to fasteners there) then slide a paint scraper between the pan and block to break the seal. Generally there is enough room to get the pan out. If you need a bit more room, support the transmission with a jack (use a piece of plywood on top to avoid bending anything) remove both engine mount through bolts and raise engine slightly (not too much or you will break something)
