Turn the key nothing happens, total loss of electrical

Turned on the key and nothing. Charged the battery three days ago, started fine. And it appears the nothing works. Checked the battery it's hold its' charge. Is the cause a relay or somethig simple, or something more serious?

Bummer mystery. Battery post or cable being dirty may be the cause. The fix is to remove and clean post and cables. Take the smaller black "ground" cable off first, and install it on last.- Got That? Part stores sell a tool just to clean these parts [cost $5]. If battery is dirty, wash with dish soapy water. rinse off with water. Sprinkle baking soda on connectors, then remove and clean them. Follow ground cable and tighten its connection to the motor and frame. A good time for tune up additives to be installed. Hope this helps. Replace the starter motor when you have voltage present at the single small wire that is connected to the starter motor, when the key is turned to start position . this can be checked by disconnecting the gray connector near the starter motor and check it there on the wire harness side or by inserting a paper clip or t-pin slid along the wire into the connector to make contact with the terminal pin.

it sounds like you have a braker going bad and it just went out the rest of the way...so if you can find the cicret braker that went out and replace it the truck should work fine....or it could be a relay that went out....try this and let me know...good luck..

I had exactly same thing on my boat recently...which has a car motor in it. And I also charged the battery and I also had a reading that said I had charge. HOwever, I tried another battery from a car and it suddenly worked. Don't know why, but it really was the battery. When I put the old one back in, it still wouldn't start. With a new battery it's fine. Ya just never know why sometimes!! Good luck!

1991 Toyota SR5 won't start when the weather is very hot

I checked the gages of the wiring which went into the battery, as suggested by another person on the site, but nothing looked out of place. I then proceeded to check wiring connections throughout the vehicle and found there were 2 sets of wires on the driver's side which were not attached to its counterpart. I remember the mechanics disconnecting those a few years ago, as they stated it was causing the problem. I decided to re-establish the connection for both sets of wires and the truck started immediately with out any further problems.
