Check the engine oil, see if the level is going up and what the condition is. you can take the oil cap off and inspect under it. if there is a milky fluid then the antifreeze is leaking in to your engine crank case which is bad for the engine bearing. The other thing to also check is the transmission fluid. make sure that its till bright red and not over filled to make sure it's not leaking in to your transmission through the transmission cooler which is apart of the radiator too. Good luck and keep me posted. Be glad to help.

It could coming from the intake look on the right side under the thermostat housing. It is hard to see, it took me about 3 mounts to find. You have to tear down the engine to replace ,gasket kit runs about $450.00 plus the labor if you have someone do it. I just add water!!

You must be sure that it is not leaking out of the water pump the way to find out is to jack up the car in the front use jack stands look under the front of the motor where the pulleys are look to see if the coolant is present in the area just behind the bottom pulley on the lower part of motor , check all hoses especially the area where the lower hose come into the motor if the hose is not leaking and antifreeze is present near lower part (front of motor) the water pump is leaking. It is very urgent that the water pump and timing belt are done together, the antifreeze gets on the timing belt and causes the belt to break therebye causing timing belt failure cause engine damage $$$

My 1997 buick park avenue, is getting hot. upper radiator hose gets under extreme pressue, stem coming from radiator hose/radiator inlet, leaks coolant only after shut off??

Normal pressure is 16 psi controlled by the radiator or coolant tank filler cap. Sometimes a cap fails to hold the proper pressure this is most noticeable at engine shut off, water and steam blow out

Head gasket

These cars do not have head gasket problems you need to remove the sparkplugs to get the coolant out and replace the black upper intake manifold as they will leak coolant into the combustion chamber. Common problem.
