All back seats are either screwed down or hooked in. you need to use a little muscle and lift up your back seat to see which is which. there is no other way to gain entry to your trunk.Trust me Ive locked my keys in my trunk too. Now i have a hidden spare to my door and trunk. GOOD LUCK

Not sure if the 2004 models are similar to the 1996 models in this aspect, but I will assume they are. In the center console (the junk box) at the back is a switch (Valet), when this switch has been pressed, the glove box and the boot (trunk), can only be opened with the Master key being physically inserted into the lock (the hole next to the model label on the boot), this is so that the valet with only the valet key (green key), can not get access to your luggage/valuables. Once it has been physically unlocked with the master key (black key), it will again open by poking kitty on the nose (button press).

Can't get into trunk to jump start car. Remote or key won't open trunk

Check your owners manual, there is usually a manual cable inside of the vehicle to release the trunk for just such an instance.

How do I access trunk entry into my 2004 Jaguar xj8 when now it has gone into valet lockout?

I believe that this is to protect valuables left in the boot when parking the vehicle. I read here that there is access some where in/ near the glove box but I cannot remember exactly what it was . Surf the net under Jaguar valet problems and you may get the answer.

How do I access the trunk of my 2004 jaguar xj8 when it's gone into valet lockout?

You can use the key on the trunk the key aperture is at the right side of the trunk. Hopefully it is not seized from lack of use. As you turn the key try thumping the boot above the top of the back edge with your hand not too hard and also rocking the car by the boot

How do i disable valet mode om a 98 jaguar vanden plas?

Try inserting the key into the drivers door lock and try centrally locking and unlocking all the doors a few times. If this does not reset the valet function try using the key in the drivers door lock and pressing the fob at the same time as locking and unlocking the doors. Even with valet mode engaged you should be able to access the trunk by physically inserting the key into the trunk lock.

Jaguar xj8 boot wont open

Just bought my 98 a week ago....from what I can figure out....the valet mode disables the inside button....until the trunk is opened by the key. From what I understand also....there is a valet key....and an owner key. (I saw the differences online this week) which also ties in with valet mode.

Valet Lockout on trunk

Put the black master key in the keyhole for the trunk, and turn it 1/4 turn. This activates/deactivates the valet feature.
