SOURCE: pin for driver side door bottom hinge pin seems to

I have changed pins individually without removing the door but it depends on the vehicle. Try opening the door fully then putting a jack under the door (put a towel or pad down to prevent scratching) then raise the jack to take some weight off the hinge. Drive the pin out with a hammer and drift, install in reverse order.

How do I remove the door of Chevrolet spark

This is a TWO person job!
-Open the window all the way. This will give you something to use as a handle.
-Open the door and disconnect the wiring loom connector.
-Unbolt the door check strap bar between the hinges.
-Support the weight of the door and locate the hinge bolt on the door.
-Loosen, but do not remove, on both hinges.
-Get your helper to support the door as it might drop suddenly.
-Remove the BOTTOM hinge bolts first. Then remove the UPPER hinge bolts.
-The door should drop out of position.
REINSTALLING.
-Support the door in the open position.
-Fit the top bolt in the top hinge until finger tight.
-Repeat this for the bottom hinge. It will take some of the weight of the door.
-Refit the lower bolts for both hinges until finger tight.
-GENTLY swing the door closed to check it is not positioned badly.
-Reopen the door and tighten the hinge bolts as follows.
Top hinge, top bolt.
Bottom hinge, top bolt.
Top hinge, bottom bolt.
Bottom hinge, bottom bolt.

-Refit the door check strap.

Replace door hinge bushings on a Venture Van

a lot of times when the hinges are worn out, the easiest thing is to go to a salvage yard and get different ones, its sometimes faster to change them entirely than to take them apart..sometimes the actual hinge pins arent able to be serviced so this is a better option..good luck..

My doors have fallin and now i have to lift6 up on the door with the window down to close it

Sounds like the door hinges are worn. Determine if it is the hinges or the hinge pin that is worn. It it is only the pins, which is unlikely, you can just replace these, if it is the hinges, the complete hinges will have to be replaced.

Door hinge has come loose from body

Sounds like a door pin to me. If this is the case easiest way to do this is by a couple new ones.Have a buddy come over and help you. First open up the door and have your buddy hold it.

Next using a hammer and a small punch (or something similar) tap any remaining pins out (top one has to be pushed from the top down, bottom from the bottom up)

Then pull the door out enough that the hinges are apart and hammer out all the old bushings.

Then re-install in reverse order. I usually just use a pair of pliers and press in new bushings, get the door in place and tap in the pins (this time upper pin goes in from the bottom, bottom pin goes in from the top.

This is a pretty common thing since the top pin goes in from the bottom, when the bushings start to wear they no longer fit snug on the pin and the pin slides out.

Hope this helped you, let me know if this was in fact your problem, and please don't forget to rate this answer.

How do you replace the drivers door hinge?

The hingepin is available in some of the help kits at the parts store. If you are just trying to make the door tight again there is no reason to unbolt the hinge. You just grind or chisel the top shoulder of the pin away and then punch the old pin through the bottom.

Put the new pin through the hinge and bend a shoulder on the new pin. Some may even use a nut with threads.

To install the pin or replace the hinge you should open the door and try to brace the bottom of the door with a bucket or books or anything where you can keep the door from changing position. Once braced, a hinge will just unbolt and you can swap it with the new part. Do one hinge at a time if you have 2 on a door.

The front door hinges are sagging how do I change them

I believe your hinge pins are worn. The only fix is to replace the hinges or the hinge pins. Neither is a pretty job.

My car door will not shut now the shop is telling me i need new latches and hinges on driver side

The easiest way to tell if this is truely your problem is to check the door. When you have the door open; lift up and down on the door. if it has signifigant travel up and down you will need to replace the door hinges. Unfortunely one of the side effects of bad door hinges are ruining of the door latch. Look at the striker pin and see if the rubber coating is worn off. Most likely it will be gone.

Good Luck!
