Not starting I have the same exact problem. However, my car will not start right now. Everything seems to be working and the engine will turn over, but the car will not start!

Need new bulb.

Have you check to see if the timing on the car is right?

Hook a jumper cable from negative terminal of the battery to the engine block. If it starts there is a bad ground. Look under air cleaner box and directly in front of engine. Replace with a # 10 copper wire and you should be all set.

Ok, so the engine turns (cranks) when you turn the key to start?
Or, the engine turns slowly? Or, the relay clicks but the engine does not turn? I'm trying to help and you aren't giving me anything to work with!!! Tell me EXACTLY what is going on there...I can't see or hear it...you can.

Is that engine a "non-interference" engine,meaning nothing of the valve train got messed up with the piston action.If not,It seems the #4 valve MAY have been damaged

What is your question?Seems you are are the right track to repairng the fried wires. Even if you do not get them exactly right right just make sure everything is grounded. The engine and battery need grounded tot he frame/firewall.

Have you changed the thermostat? The way you describe it seem like a thermostat.

Try having one person turn the key to the start position and hold it there, while someone else taps on the starter with a hammer. If tapping on it makes it work, you need a starter. Good luck. Hope this helps.

i had a 2003 ctc that did the same thing, it wouldn't start or would make a clicking sound and about 1 mth after the problem started aND mechanics could not find a problem my car caught on fire and burned completely from something under the right side of the hood. i had just parked the car and got out, it happened really fast. the fire chief said the cause was unknown????

now i have a 2004 cts and i'm having the same problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! has anyone else had this happen???? please be cautious if your cts is doing this, during the fire my doors locked and had to be pried into by fire chief.
