You can wait its just fine, However if you ever start to notice oil leaking from front cover, then you will need to change. If there is no loss in power feel sluggish especially on take off, Its almost impossible for these type of chains to break. So enjoy until the wheel fall off..lol. good luck

SOURCE: does nissan maxima 2001 has a timing belt or chain

For the 2001 Nissan Maxima 3.0L SFI DOHC V6:
It has a Timing Chain.
Unlike Timing Belts, Timing Chains will normally last the lifetime of the car. However, when it is time to change the Water Pump: it is a really great idea to change the Timing Chain and Camshaft and Crankshaft Sprockets, as you are in the vicinity and have already torn down everything already.
Professionally, but not officially, I like the 100,000 miles rule with Timing Chains.

What signs appear if my nissan almera timing chain need to be replace?

ONly sign I would use is if it gives a mileage in the maintenance portion of your owners manual. Most times it is timing belts that need replaced at 80K miles or whatever but that isn't necessarily the case with timing chains.

No other real sign on when to change them other than when the fail and when that happens you jump from replacing the belt/chain to replacing the engine.

Good luck

When is the timing chain of a 2007 1.5 4x4 daihatsu terios changed?

Timing chains do not need changed until they break or get so loose that they jump a tooth on the chain. But if you have a timing belt instead of a timing chain, it does need to be changed before it breaks. Replace the timing belt every 60,000 miles. Severe engine damage will occur if you do not replace the timing belt every 60,000 miles.

How long will a timing chain last on a passat with a v6 engine

Hi,
Actually the timing chain is for a lifetime, the only thing you replace is the chain guide and the tensioner.

Hope that helps you out!

How many miles before you need a timming belt?

Are you talking timing chain or are you talking about a serpentine belt?

If you are talking timing chain, then you normally change them when you start having troubles or you have to pull the engine out for some other reason (even if it is good).

Serpentine belts will last differently for each car. Just make it a habit to check the condition of the belt everytime you change your oil and to replace it when you see it cracking or other wear signs.

It has a timing belt. Recommended to be replace every 105,000 miles, timing belt also run's your water pump good idea to also replace, your engine is also an INTERFERENCE ENGINE which will damage your cylinder head valve's if timing belt goes bad. Hope this was very helpful.

1995 GMC safari V6 When does the timing belt need replacing

sorry i didnt see the TIMING belt in the title -
GMC recommends replacing Timing belt at 71,000 miles....
however your particular vehicle may have a timing CHAIN.

The 4.3L engine is the only engine covered by this guide which uses a timing chain and gear (sprocket) assembly to turn the camshaft. The 2.5L engine uses a direct gear drive (without a chain).

Only replace the chain if after inspecting it - it is worn or damaged!
You don't adjust timing chain-you replace it or the tensioner
