When I select second gear the gear lever goes down extremely far to the left, and i have renewed all external gearshift bushes? Are there internal shiftkit upgrades available ?
The issue almost has to be external. There is only one shift rod on these cars; it rotate a set amount and goes in-an-out. These shifters have a ball bushing at tunnel and attach to an arm that ties them to the transmission. There are several bushings/bolts/pins in this mechanism that are prone to failure. Unless you have had this car on a rack and dropped the transmission down, I am fairly confident that you have not changed all of the bushings. Also, failure of the transmission mount itself could allow for movement of the shifter (actually the transmission is moving appearing to move the shifter). This was a common failure on the M3 that caused many blown engines during down shifting resulting in grabbing 2nd instead of 4th and over-revving the engine.
Hope this helps,

SOURCE: transmission linkage
Did you take the linkage right off at the transmission ? If not, then don't !! The shaft can drop down & something internally happens, that requires removal of pan etc to put it back.
SOURCE: shift solenoid relay.. internal or external?
Trans model is the 4L60E,and the shift solenoids are mounted on the valve body, just inside the bottom pan. There are 2 shift solenoids, one EPC solenoid (Electronic Pressure Control)One TCC PWM solenoid (Torque Convertor Clutch,Pulse Width Modulated),one 3-2 kickdown solenoid, and a manifold pressure switch. As far as a shift solenoid relay switch,i have never heard of that. The power for the transmission solenoids comes through the ignition switch ,and uses a fuse, not a relay.Accessing the solenoids only requires dropping the bottom pan,and the valve body does not have to be removed,to change the solenoids. The shift solenoids are the TWO solenoids right side by side and look identical..They are the only two solenoids inside the pan that are in fact identical.Good luck.
check the mechanical linkage to the transmission

INSPECTION 1. Inspect the bushing for wear or damage. 2. Inspect the return spring for damage or deterioration. REASSEMBLY 1. Apply multi-purpose grease to the sliding parts of the bushings. 2. Reassembly is reverse of disassembly. INSPECTION 1. Inspect the bushing for wear or damage. 2. Inspect the return spring for damage or deterioration. REASSEMBLY 1. SOURCE: Manual (right)gearshift cable or grommet/bushing replacement
You could probably make one if its just a standard plastic bush or get one made for you Cable assemblies quite expensive
