Not all Chrysler products have uconnect; it may show the button on the radio, but if the uconnect system isn't installed you get the error you're getting; My Dodge Nitro is the same. For me to use a phone with my uconnect and still use AT&T as my bundled provider, I had only one choice of phones. The HTC ONE. Did you use the software tool available that matches the IPS you have or want with the phone features you want. The program spits out the phone(s) available. I wanted all the features including speech to text to a text message, and some other geeky features that in the end limited me to the HTC ONE. But I lucked out. the phone is incredible. Oh, I have yet to use the feature I bought the phone for! You probably have the Uconnect help and support number but here it is anyway; 1-877-855-8400. I hope this helps.

My Uconnect is factory installed on my 2005 Dodge Truck. There are two control buttons on the rearview mirror for the uconnect. For a long time my uconnect would not fully function with my bluetooth phone and then lately it quite working most of the time. I did a bunch of research adn found this procedure to do a hard reset. After doing this the uconnect came back fully and all functions are working. I now this sounds stupid and you feel stupid doing it, but it did work for my vehicle.
1- Turn on ignition w/doors closed
2- Press both buttons on mirror for 15-20 seconds
3- Shut off ignition
4- Open door for 5-10 seconds
5- Close door and restart car, Uconnect is now reset

check jeep.com/uconnect just to make sure the model is ok. Sometime your cell phone provider can update the software to make it work better with the device.

Check with jeep.com/uconnect to make sure it is compatible. The phone is the problem 9 time out of 10. The cell phone provider can upgrade the software to make it compatible with the uconnect.
