Tail light stuck in socket
SOURCE: location of oil filter on a 2008 hyundai elantra
It is located under the alternator. If you are looking down at the engine, it is to the far left. If you are under the car it is to the far right before the oil pan.

I have done one on 03 if its the same inside of trunk there are several retainers for the interior liner remove these and pull liner back there are 2 or 3 nuts behind that panel once removed lense will come out it comes out kind of hard but it does come out then you just twist the socket out of lense to get to bulb
SOURCE: How many quarts of oil will the 2008 Hyundai Elantra hold?
Does the book say 6 quarts? I would put in 5, then run it, then let it settle for a couple minutes, then check it again. The book should be right. That would probably include changing the filter also.

I HAVE A 2008 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. I HAD THIS PROBLEM WHEN I WANTED TO REPLACE MY FACTORY RADIO. I ENDED UP TAKING APART MOST OF MY DASH TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. AFTER ALL SAID AND DONE. I FOUND OUT THAT THE PIECE THAT GOES AROUND THE RADIO JUST SNAPS INTO PLACE. I USED A COUPLE OF FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVERS TO PRY IT OFF. THAT IS IT. IT IS THAT EASY. THE WHOLE CAR JUST SNAPS TOGETHER. THE CAR IS CHEAPLY PUT TOGETHER.

unless you can discover what DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) has been recorded/set in the control module, it's anyone's guess.
