The first four digits denote the year, model of vehicle, and type of part.
D9 is 1979 model year, AE is full size model and engine.
6015 is Ford's part number for just about every engine they have produced since the 1950s.
ED21 denotes the actual part and how many times it has been changed.
This could be a 5th version 351Winsdor engine from a full size car.
The parts dept of any Ford dealer should be able to tell you for sure.

I have a tranny with no id plate on it . the only # I see is 1307 401 177 this is on the passenger side. It is part of the casting. the Tranny is one a 1990 F305 dauly with a 7.3 enging. I would like to...

as the engines are the same , it should fit straight in

tis telling u about Oxygen sensor..bank 1 n 2 means exhaust manifold ( u have on each manifold before and after the catalytic converter.. ( ti's for 6 cyl.. very common on ford eng..(windstar..have 2 catalyctic.. O sensors is about $50 a pc..

My 2001 ford expedition is making a knocking noise when I start it.

YOUR ENG IS GIVING YOU WARNING . MY FRIEND HAS THAT PROBLEM A NOISE DURING START AND AFTER START. NO DTC CODES OR CH. ENG LIGHT. IN SHORT HIS ENG WENT BAD. END UP CHANGING THE WHOLE ENG. ACCORDING TO THE MECH. SOME SAY THE OIL PUMP WORK AND DONT WORK CAUSING THE ENG TO BRAKE OR BROKEN. HAVE A SHOP TO LOOK AT IT DURING START AND AFTER START IT MIGHT SAVE YOU MONEY FOR LABOR AND ENG. HIS FORD SUV EXPEDITION COST HIM A LOT AND LOVE IT BUT THE COST IS HIGH. GOOD LUCK.
