SOURCE: passenger door lock jammed

Your door latch assembly may be compromised. It could be rusted, the electric solenoid (if it has one) may be seized. Or the rods from the key are bent. Are you using th key in this door regularly? If not, the tumblers in the lock may be seized. Spray some WD-40 in the lock where the key goes, and jam the key in & out repeatedly, and retry. Remove the door panel & spray the interior of the latch, also. Hope this works for you; or, you are going to need new latches.

Sounds like something isn't right.Try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and see if that helps. Some times the ecu gets haywired and disconnecting the battery might reset it.And if it is the original battery you might want to get it tested.

The drivers door lock on my 1994 Mitsubishi magna is jammed . it will lock but not unlock

Door locks tend to be a problem as cars age especially in very dusty or damp conditions. Mechanisms need periodic maintenance to keep them in good order but manufacturers provide no facility to lubricate the door catches, locks or the linkages that are hidden away inside doors and consequently even the well-designed examples eventually give trouble and there are many that aren't particularly well designed.

Key mechanisms can be lubricated but rarely are. Linkages that rely on silly plastic bearings and clips soon cause problems when moisture attacks the metal parts or dust makes the action stiff.

The only cure is to remove the interior door panel and examine the mechanism. If the door won't open the task is difficult and often begins with seat removal. Once the panel is removed and the moisture membrane is carefully peeled away so it can be reused examination can begin.

Working inside a door takes a good deal of patience and a strong inspection light to provide sufficient illumination. It is a task better suited to indoors or if outside, done at dusk or with a heavily overcast sky so strong shadows are avoided.

Apart from mechanical problems there is the possibility of electrical trouble caused by corroded connections, wires with internal breaks and worn out switchgear.

I have 97 souvreign and when opening doors just driver door and one one back doors open and other two doors not opening even by pulling handle manually does not open..

If they're power locks your door lock actuators might be faulty. If you push the button and it sounds like its opening or you manually unlock the doors and they still won't open, that would be my first guess. The motors might be getting weak and not have enough oomph to actually move. If it's manual locks, the locking mechanism could be messed up inside and is sitting in the lock position and won't move no matter what or the rod came off either way it will be Tricky getting the door panel off with the doors closed :)

On a 1998 Ford Contour, can I replace the driver side door opening mechanism with the back door one?

Have to open the door & then remove the door panel,
to see what the issues are, with the inside or outside
lock mechanism

Then buy the required parts at a dealer or salvage yard

Why will my drivers door not open, even though it locks and unlocks with key fob.

Sounds like the activator rod that goes from the door Handle to the latch is disconnected. You will have to get the door open to repair it and a good mechanic or tow truck driver can use a slim Jim kit to get the latch to release and then you can pull the door panel and find the problem.

Driver side door jammed shut

Not to my knowledge. The mechanism you talk about is the wiring inside the door if it has electric locks. The only way is to remove the top of the door panel to access the door latch mechanism then slide it away from the latch. If that don't work let me know

Can't open the driver side door at all

sounds like the rod that connects the handles to the mechanism to open the doors has either broken or come off. it's going to be hard but you need to try and get the panel off as much as possible and reach your arm in and open the door. then take the door panel off completely and look inside for the problem

Drivers door wont open

If it were me , I'd remove the inside door panel and take it from there. It may be that you can pry open the lock mechanism with a screw driver or a similar tool, allowing you to open the door - which obviously you must do. Even that, though, will not solve the cause of your problem. You may wind up at the dealer.

The lock on my front driver door will not unlock with power locks the rest the door will not even open when i attempt to open from the inside i tried unlocking it with the key but it made a sounds like...

You will need to remove the inside door trim panel and check the three (3) rods and plastic connectors that connect:
(a) the inside door handle to the door mechanism
(b) the inside door lock knob/outside key lock cylinder to the door mechanism
(c) the outside door handle to door mechanism.

Most likely one (or more) of these rods have either become loose or the plastic lock clips have broken.
The "L" end of the rod goes thru the hole of the clip and the clip has a pivoting "U" shape that goes over and locks onto the rod.
Based on the your year (2000) it might be a good idea to remove all clips and rods; and remove the entire door mechanism. Inspect, clean, lubricate, and re-install it.

My 2001 Chrysler Town & Country passenger sliding door won't open

your door panel can come off and you can access internal door locking mechanism from inside car first inspect to see all rods are hooked into plastic sleeves then make sure lock is disengaged by pulling rod towards rear of van it should then be able to be opened easily if not your locking mechanism is frozen inside of door between a pillar and door it will have to be pushed to open from inside of door panel once you do that door will open if you cant make lock work manually once this is done replace locking mechanism or rods accordingly.
