No, it won't. If it's black smoke, you're getting too much fuel. If it's blue smoke, your engine is worn out. If you're getting a lot of white smoke, the head gasket needs to be replaced.
Check for obd codes & diagnose them
Do not install parts until you component
test your codes & find a failed part

Sounds like your injection pump timing is off, an injector is leaking or a bad seal on your IP.
VW dealers have a horrible reputation when it comes to TDI's. Check out the posts over at www.tdiclub.com Those guys are very knowledgeable - and the first thing they'll tell you is don't take it to a dealer.
You can probably find someone in your area that has a copy of Vag-Com (scantool software that vw uses) software that could look at your timing. It definitely sounds like your dealer was throwing parts at your car because they didn't know what your problem is. If I were you, I'd copy and paste your post from here over at www.tdiclub.com

Just an idea but the Ford Mondeo ( european car ) from which I believe your engine
is
taken has a habit of splitting a low pressure tube at the back
of
the engine this is a relatively
cheap,
easy fix. The other symptom this used to throw up was a
little more
black smoke from the exhaust and a pacing/ surging from
the engine.
