Without warning car would not start, tried 4 or 5 times, then in about 30 min. it started ok 5 or 6 times the rest of the day. Now today it will not start again. turns over fine but will not fire.
You will need to figure out if you are lacking spark to the plugs or fuel to the injectors to know which system to test.

i had the same problem on my '92 Lesabre ltd. All you need to do it is get the rust off your battery cables, use the wire brush to scrub the contact surfaces. also use a wrench to tighten the bolt to the battery, take precaution as to not to tighten too much , it might beak the battery threads.

The crank sensor is located on the side of crankshaft damper/pulley it mounted on a bracket. However it think that you may have a map-sensor problem that's very common with this vehicle. The crank sensor is not hard to change at all. Good Luck get back in contact if you need more help

Crank sensor. Next time it does this spray some water on it and see if it cranks. Its by the crankshaft pulley towards front of car.

have the alternator check out. A good alternator should give produce voltage 13.8v or 14.5v ,but not greater than 15 volts

if car shuts off while driving it could be a bad crank sensor. a bad crank sensor will shut car off while driving, then it will not start for about 10 minutes, when it starts it runs fine until it goofs up again. the popping could be the sensor for it controls timing along with the cam sensor.
