The Audi 5 cylinder engine (Engine code AFU) was mainly produced in South Africa and was called a Microbus. The engine capacity was 2309cc. The Microbus 2.3i T3 was produced from 1992-2002.

According to Mead & McGrouther - Data Digest the torque settings for the cylinder head bolts are as follows: 40Nm + 60Nm + 90'degree turn + 90' degree turn. The cylinder head bolts has to be replaced with brand new ones.

The Main Bearings: 65Nm. The Big Ends: 30Nm + 90 degree turn.

The OHC Bearing Caps: 20Nm.

Flywheel Bolts Manual transmission: 60Nm + 90 degree turn.

There's no such engine. The Microbus came with a 1.6l or 1.8l 4-cylinder or a 2.5l five-cylinder.

I need to know the torques specs for the head bolts on a 1991 vw passat, can you help

I,m assuming that you have the head off for some reason. So before you put it back together you need to know a couple things. Make sure your crank is lined up with your timing mark for TDC BEFORE you put the head on the engine. Also the timing marks on the head have to be lined up BEFORE you put the head on. If they don't do this properly you will bend valves when you try to get it lined up.
The head bolts must be tightened in a specific order or the head will crack. They must also be removed in the reverse order. The five bolts on the exhaust side of the engine are numbered from the timing belt in this order: 10-4-2-6-8. The five bolts on the intake side are numbered from the timing belt in this order: 7-5-1-3-9. Sorry I can't send pics so maybe draw this out before you start, basically it a set of X's.
timing 10 4 2 6 8 distributor
belt 7 5 1 3 9

The torque is done in 3 stages. The first torque is 30 ft-lbs (40Nm). The second torque is 43 ft-lbs (60Nm). The third torque is 1/2 turn or 180 degrees. This final torque can be done as 2 1/4 turns or 90 degrees if you wish. Hope this helps.

Needing engine bolt torque specifications for a 2006 Ford Five Hundred with 3.0 liter engine. This will need to include rod and mains torque and torque rotation.

stage 1 tighten to 30 ft pounds
stage 2 tighten 90 degrees
stage 3 loosen one full turn
stage 4 tighten to 30 ft pounds
stage 5 tighten 90 degrees
stage 6 tighten 90 degrees
this is per mitchell on demand courtesy of ford specs on the lft and right head.
for some reason there are no torque specs on mitchell for connecting rods and mains.
