Try using the key that's hidden within the key fob.
There should be a place to insert it above the license plate in the trunk lid. Then there should be a handle there as well to open it manually.

Have you checked all your fuses? Check the fuses first. Owners manual should have a fuse box legend as well as the fuse box cover.

SOURCE: Trunk not releasing on 2003 E320.

The trunk lock actuator is probably in valet mode. Remove the mechanical key on the side of your smart key and turn the trunk tumbler(ibeleive to the left). and put it in normal mode and it sh0uld start working. Your owner's manual will tell you about this operation. hope i have been helpful

The problem may be with the closing assist pump or the sensor on the trunk. Try first to remove the fuse of the pump in the fuse box at the trunk. It is usually the #9 fuse in most models. Check if the fuse is bad if not leave it out of the socket for a minute then put it back in to reset the system. See if it works.

To get the line removed use the fork of a 7mm wrench to get the hose out of the pump. The trunk line is labeled 'HD'. Make sure to pry it out in the direction of the hose in order for you not to break the nozzle.

Other details of the issue you may use the link below as reference.

It is for another model but it uses the same parts.

SOURCE: I cannot open the trunk.

Checked all the fuses? I assume your trunk has no key cylinder.
Can you fold down your rear seats? Many times there is a manual release inside the trunk, just incase you lock yourself in the trunk!
If there is no manual release lever or cable with handle to pull the latch itself may have a slot on it that when a flat screwdriver is inserted and twisted it will rotate the release.

SOURCE: c320 hood release handle won't pop the hood

I don't think there is a day that goes by in the shop where we don't get at least one vehicle that is doing this. Just use two people. One to pull the cable release and the other to slap the hood with their hand and tell it to cooperate. Usually, just a little "jarring" with the cable pulled will get it to pop up.

Trunk release clicks, but won't release

Something broke on the lock mechanism. In order to open the trunk, you will have to remove the rear seats and try to access the trunk area. Once you are in the trunk, you should be able to manually open the lock and investigate what broke.

Trunk won't open

Lower the back seat and crawl into the trunk and see what the latch is doing when you activate the key fob. the trunk lid will have to be open to enable any repairs. Also an emergency release cable is probably visible (yellow handle) inside the trunk and will Open the trunk lid.
