Question about 2004 Proton Gen-2

Car advice Gen 2. im having problems whilst driving. All of a sudden while driving it feels harder to drive, like its suddenly going up hill? Any ideas?

If your car has automatic gears , and your problem as if it is going uphill then you obviously have a faulty automatic transmission box , this can be fixed by a competent mechanic but would be better to take it to an auto-mechanic, for a replacement gearbox or it may just be a missaligned gear selector in the gearbox, it will be expensive whatever the problem is ........unless the auto-mechanic is your best buddy..............................Sorry

There's no clogs. Your explanation tells me exactly what the problem is. Been there Bro. Your problem is caused by a faulty Exhaust Recirculation Valve (the EGR valve) and all you can do is just replace it. Those other mechanics that tried to fix it didn't know because apparently they've never come across this situation. But losing power when your pulling an incline tells you right away it's the EGR valve. Just buy one from your local auto parts store and replace it yourself. Only a couple of bolts hold it on and has a vacuum line on it.

Burned smell coming inside the car(pathfinder 1998) while long journey.

As you said while driving burning smell comes, if it occur in this condition 1. at hill side road 2. you trying go up side on slope or 3. you are in traffic on slope. basically what happen due to over riding or you can say you are in 2nd or 3 rd gear and you moving towards up side you will press clutch half and press accelerator , that will cause clutch burning if having problem in pickup then get replace clutch kit assay,if you are not facing any problem with car pickup you can drive it till you feel problem in pickup. it will not stop suddenly it will give indication with pickup loss then go and replace it .till drive the car don't worry. Thanks

I drive a Hyundai GX30 December 1999 model. The problem I have is that when you engage D on automatic mode it will drive fine for a while changing from 1, 2 , 3 upto gear 4 showing on the dash board...
There is something drastically wrong with the transmission on your car and it is in your best interest to have a tranny pro look at it.

Car loses power while driving and jerks while it's trying to accelerate but cannot,as I press pedall to the floor.Completely slows to a crawl on the freeway and almost stops but engine does not die.Then...
if you don't have a gas cap on the car or if it is on too loosely then that is a possibility. Only other thing I could think of would be water in your fuel. You may try a bottle of "heat" (I think that is how you spell it) at your local auto parts store and chunk it in the gas can. if there were any problems with water that should be the cure.

Are you getting the check engine light? If so the electronics may have gone out. You may not need a rebuild but you won't know till you pull the oil pan on the transmission and inspect the contents. You may also have lost the neutral safety switch. It is mounted on the drivers side of the transmission. Check those out first and let me know what codes you get.
For Ponchoboy; the clunking and hissing you hear are teminal root causes. Drop the oil pan and if it has a lot of filings and metal it is time for a rebuild.

have you changed the fuel filter lately a plugged fuel filter will cause this concern
did the power loss start all of a sudden or did you start losing power over time ?
