no country told or what engine is here, now that is a challenge. I guess never exported IDK.
GEN 7 it is ,1997 to 2003, USA the engine line up is HERE.
3.1 L L82 V6 - 160 Horsepower
3.1 L LG8 V6 - 175 Horsepower
3.8 L L36 V6 - 195-200 Horsepower
3.8 L L67 SC V6 - 240 Horsepower
You said timing, but left off the second word (CAm OR SPARK)
WOW.
nor told the JOB AT HAND at all.
Spark 101:
you don't know it but this was dictated, by the EPA here, USA
no adjustments of spark allowed, thus lowering smog
and uses HARD FIXED CKP sensor to do that magic and DIS. tech
the 3.8L/3.1 liter has (twin packs) 2 spark plugs per. so is 3 pack engine
and there is no distributor at all here to play with.
CKP is precision mounted in the factory for ever. no slotted mounts
so I guess you meant to say CAM
so how to time the cam is told in the service manual
most engine are TDC #1 firing./ (yes not all 100,000 others)
cam spec from the manual
gain access to cam front
then. one engine (not told) is chain other is gears)
Align the timing marks on the sprockets so that they are as close as possible.
L36 below.
all you is align the 2 dots. (called index marks)
next time say what job this is.
and engine there.
