The engine hesitates and even stalls momentarily. The check engine light flashes and an ESP light comes on.
I would check Your Ignition Key cylinder. especially if there is a lot of weight on your key chain. or Key is worn.. If the extra key is in Great shape (Not Worn) then try it and see if it still happens..... At any speed the engine stalls comes back, All lights flash, etc. at any speed, at any time.....
Good Luck,

There is no fuel filter that the car owner can replace as a maintenance part. The only filter is a sock filter in the gas tank.

If the engine isn't turning over then it is not the fuel filter. If the engine is turning over when you turn the key it is possible it's the fuel filter but most likely the Fuel pump unless you got some poor fuel or water in your fuel. This is a fuel injected engine. Look at the engine and find one of the fuel injector rails. On one end there should be a black dust cover cap. Remove that cap and you will see what looks like a Tire air valve. Put a rag under and around this to keep fuel from spraying out all over and press on the center release valve after you have turned the ignition key to on but not started the engine. If fuel comes out try the other rail. If you have fuel at both then the engine is getting fuel and the problem is most likely NOT the fuel filter but may still be related to your fuel pump. Chrysler uses submerged fuel pumps in these vehicles. That is the fuel pump is located in the gas tank. If you suspect the Fuel pump is faulty, and this does happen, you should really have a trained mechanic do the work. They have the tools to do the job quickly and without getting fuel all over. If the fuel pump, which is electronic, does not maintain proper fuel pressure it will cause the symptoms you have described.

Hello, the answer to solve this problem is to take it to your nearest chrysler dealer and have them re-flash the updates to the ecu....since 2004, chrysler has had about 4-5 new updates since the date they were manufactured....you need to have the update that followed from your date of man. on your vehicle....They attempted to flash mine to the latest update and didnt work, turns out that they need the re-flash from back when...in order to get the gauage to stop fluctuating.....Hope this helps!!
SOURCE: 2005 Chrysler 300 thermostat location?
Hi,
In your Model :-
The automotive thermostat is a temperature controlled on and off valve.
When the temperature rises to a predetermined temperature, the
thermostat opens up to allow the engine coolant to flow through the
cylinder block and the radiator. This flow is crucial to maintain
optimum operating temperature for fuel efficiency, enhanced
driveability, and engine protection. The coolant flow is reduced when
the engine is cold, and the flow is increased when the engine is hot.
Contrary to popular opinion, operating the vehicle without the
thermostat doesn't make the engine run cooler. It will actually run
hotter because there isn't a thermostat to slow the coolant flow. This
means the coolant doesn't stay in the radiator long enough to dissipate
its heat.
TO TEST THERMOSTAT
There are several ways to test the opening temperature of a thermostat.
One method does not require that the thermostat be removed from the engine.
The other way to test a thermostat is to remove it.
Positioning a thermostat into an engine.
TO REPLACE THERMOSTAT
CAUTION
If the radiator is filled to the
top with coolant and the engine is run without the radiator cap in
place, the coolant will expand and spill over as the engine warms up.
NOTE
When a paper gasket is used and the recess is in
the thermostat housing, it is a good practice to position the
thermostat into the recess and glue the gasket to hold it in place. If
it falls out of its groove during installation, the outlet housing can
be cracked or a coolant leak will result. Before tightening the water
outlet housing, try to rock it back and forth to be sure it is flush.
Housings are often cracked during this step.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The question was for a 300 CRD (assuming the "D" is meaning diesel). In which case this is located directly on top of the engine, under the plastic cover right in the middle.
It's a standard service item to be replaced at ever service. Provided you have enough patience to get the 2 pipe clips back on securely the whole job takes about 20 minutes to do.
