SOURCE: how come on a 2002 GMC Denali if you lock your key inside

i would say the theft module saw the door trying to be open without the door lock or fob first, once the door lock button was pushed it shut down, it new doors were trying to be unlocked in a theft manner, once shut down it needs time to reset or needs to see ignition cycle with key and read chip in key, smart system isnt it, good luck.

Testimonial: "I thought it was something like that, so I guess using the car door wedge set this into motion and the guy with the keys inside the vehicle is screwed"

SOURCE: I have a 2000 Yukon

According to my lists, 2000 Yukon has a Passlock 2 anti theft security system. This means that the key literally has a transponder in it that sends a radio signal to the ignition. The ignition/lock cylinder then sends a signal to the TDM (theft deterrent module) which then reads the signal and allows your truck to start. If there are any communication breaks, the truck thinks its being stolen and goes into anti theft.... Read up on this link. There might be an option for you. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

I have a 2012 Buick Lacrosse. The ignition switch chime is stuck chiming as if the key is still in the ignition. Its preventing my key-less entry fob from functioning or allowing me to set the alarm.

jiggle the keyway with NO key in it, also spray in some dry graphite lock lube into the keyway and jiggle it some more, also try tapping on it from several angles with the plastic handle of a screw driver .. will shake it lose, its just a little stuck.

Alarm chimes 6-8 times when i turn off

i think that is a factory setting if it is a factory alarm. I have a 2001 and my horn honks once when I set it and no noise when I turn it off.(you probably have a aftermarket alarm)

Key fob don't work and chimes 6-8 times when i turn off

you have a aftermarket alarm system. you will have to take it to an alarm specialist. (it also could be a bad battery in your remote)

My 2000 ford explorer is having issues with the door alarm and interior lights remaining on even though the door is shut.Any advice is great.Cheers.

Go sit in your truck and close all the doors. Light stays on right? Put your key in the ignition. Does the chime start going off when you put the key in? If so, door switch or the GEM thinks a door is open.

To find out which door... Leave the key in the ingntion. Turn to the on position. Even with doors closed, chime sounds once after a few seconds and door ajar light comes on and stays on right? Open each door one by one. The chime should sound each time you open a door. When you find the door that doesn't make the chime sound when you open it, that is the problem. (Don't forget to try the rear hatch and the hatch glass also!) To determine if the switch is bad or if the GEM is having a problem thinking the door is open, just unplug the suspected switch, close all the doors, and see if the problem stops. (don't forget to wait a second to give the lights time to go off) If unplugging the switch solves it, the replace it. If it doesn't, Ford can check your GEM to see if it is the problem.

I hope this helps

How to tell what audi tt keyfob to what alarm , brought a audi tt the key fob makes the led on the door light up only when i press the fob and goes of when i release it but it don't set the alarm or lock...

If you have an owners manual look at the menu controls on the car computer. You should have choices for the alarm and doorlocks, how long lights stay on, traction control, chimes, bells,etc.. A kindly Audi dealer will probably help you.

Jag S-Type -intermitent fault where the remote fob does not work

This does not sound like a fob fault - but a locking control module fault , either in the hardware or software of the unit. Get it checked at a Jaguar dealers. When unlocking using the key - as soon as the door is opened you should hear a chime sounding inside the car - this is a timer counting down to sounding the alarm. If you put your key in the ignition as soon as you open the door the alarm should not go off and the chime should stop. If it does not this again points to a fault in the locking controller.
hope this helps - good luck.

2004 xtype jaguar key fob suddenly stopped working car locked and alarmed if i use key in the door will the alarm go off if so how do i stop it

Your key fob needs reprogramming, and yes the alarm will go off when you open the door, but you have enough time to put the key in the ignition which will prevent the alarm sounding. Car is usable until you get the fob sorted by locking and unlocking using the key.

Key fob will not undo cetral locking or disable car alarm changed battery in key fob still having no luck any idea who can re code key fob to central locking and alarm?

If you don't have one that works for the vehicle now, you'll have to take it to your local dealer to have it programmed to the vehicle. Some will charge for this, some will do it at no charge.

If you do have a remote that is programmed and working for the vehicle, then the following steps will allow you to program another remote:

1. Enter vehicle and close all doors.

2. Put seatbelt on (or clip it into the buckle) to shut the warning buzzer off.

3. Put key in ignition, turn to run position but don't start it.

4. Press and hold the unlock button on the working key fob and hold for 4 seconds, then also press the panic button.

5. Release both buttons and you should hear a single chime to indicate it is in program mode. You have 30 seconds after the chime to program any additional remotes you want to program.

6. Press and release both the unlock and lock buttons simultaneously on the remote you are programming. You should hear another single chime.

7. Within 4 seconds after hearing the chime, press either lock or unlock button on remote that you are programming.
