The fuel filter is contained in the fuel sender assembly inside the fuel tank. the paper filter element of the fuel filter traps particles in the fuel that may damage the fuel injection system. The fuel filter housing is made to withstand maximum fuel system pressure, exposure to fuel additives, and changes in temperature. There is no service interval for fuel filter replacement.

IMPORTANT: This vehicle has a lifetime fuel filter built into the fuel sender inside the tank and thus is not serviceable separately. The fuel filter is not a replaceable part.

On my 2004 chevy avalanche just died one day when you star it starts but if you step on gas it losses spudders and dies

Oh the list of things it could be is pretty long.
Lets start with hmm bad TPS or plugged fuel filter? or underperforming fuel pump?

Lets see if it was really sudden id start with checking the TPS among other things.
If it happened kinda slow then id start with the fuel filter.
Poor voltage to the ignition system can sometimes have that effect too.

I have an 04 avalanche when i go to start it it does not start on the first try but as soon as you try the second time it starts any ideas what it may be

When was fuel filter last changed? Try cycling key just to on, not start, first, then back off, and try to start, see if that works as well.
