SOURCE: over heating and radiator leaks. overheats after

The radiator leak needs to be fixed obviously and the cooling fans need to be checked for proper function.
When the radiator leaks, the coolant is replaced by air. The air is trapped in the engine cooling system and can not escape because of the leak and does not allow the coolant to circulate, causing an overheat condition.
The air in the cooling system does not conduct heat properly and caused the cooling fan to not start there by adding to the overheated condition.
Fix the leak, make sure the air is purged from the system and make sure the cooling fans work after the leak is fixed.
Good luck.

Why does my 2003 chevy venture over heat after ten minutes of driving from a cold start?

The first thing I would verify is that there are no air pockets in the cooling system. It can look full but actually have air in the system from being drained.
The next thing would be circulation thru the radiator. Then a blockage in the radiator hose or the block.

Why does my chevy venture overheat after ten minutes?

If your engine is overheating, Try this procedure:
  • Dirt and debris can get lodged in the radiator air flow paths. This can block the radiator and cause your engine to overheat and damage the engine.

  • The thermostat can be stuck close. If you feel the upper hose very hot and the lower hose cooler than normal, it may be a stuck thermostat.

  • Make sure the radiator and the overflow bottle are filled to the proper levels.

  • Bleed air from the coolant system:This is best done by running the engine with the radiator cap off until you see when the air bubbles stop coming up.

  • Check the radiator fans: The easiest way is to turn on the cars air conditioner and turn up the A/C fans. Both radiator fans should come on when the A/C starts

  • Make a pressure test by using a pressure testing tool (available at most auto parts stores). Use the pressure shown on your radiator cap. Most cars are 16 PSI or less, so don't exceed that pressure. Replace the radiator cap if it doesn't hold the pressure.

Why does my 2003 chevy venture overheat after ten minutes

Can not guess for an answer

I wouldn't be using any vehicle that overheats
but most folks do & try to ruin the motor

Could be a water pump issue
Could be a thermostat issue
Could be a bad head gasket
Could be a coolant leak
Could be a timing chain issue
Could be worn, damage & blocked exhaust converter
Could be 8" of leaves in between the condenser & radiator
Could be failed & clogged radiator, from someone adding stop leak
& ruining the coolant system

You know all that
Should I keep adding to the list

2001 chevy venture security light on wont start

It may be as simple as trying a different key but the security systems on gm vehicles have had problems with the ignition cylinders going bad and preventing the car from starting.

The gas gauge on my 2002 chevy venture is not

Hi:
Your tank sending unit is bad. Unfortunately, it is part of the fuel pump assembly, and the part costs around $400, give or take. plus installation labor. It is an all too common problem on GM vehicles, as I have had to change it on my last 2 GMs. If you do an internet search you will find plenty of others in the same boat!
