Hi if you have no power steering assist
check to see if the power steering shaft is broken
open the hood and the power steering pump is located on lower left of the engine
use a big screw driver or even your hand and try and pull the power steering pully towards the rad
if you can move the pully out then the power steering shaft is broken and you will need to replace the power steering pump
hope this helps you
SOURCE: new Power steering pump but no p/s @ low RPM
Don't think the pressure switch would do that. Sounds more like a bad pump (they have people that can't tie their own shoes building this stuff thanks to outsourcing to other countries) Failure rate on rebuilds is far higher than it used to be. Reason I believe the pump may be the problem is that it does seem to work at high rpm's...tells me that it either has an internal pressure bypass or not making enough pressure. Could be wrong, but I'd get another one first.
