PRE-DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTIONBefore diagnosing ABS/TCS, perform a comprehensive visual inspection of system as follows.Check ABS/TCS wiring harness connectors for looseness. Check harness routing; pay particular attention to wheel speed sensor wiring harness routing. Check fuses No. 1D, 5B and 6B in instrument panel fuse block. Check fuses No. 1 and 2 in underhood fuse block. Check brake fluid level in master cylinder reservoir. Check brake fluid level in Pressure Modulator Valve (PMV) assembly reservoir. Ensure parking brake is fully released. Ensure parking brake switch is functioning properly. Always perform ABS/TCS system functional check before using DIAGNOSTIC CODE CHARTSThe EBCM/EBTCM has self-diagnostic capability, which can detect system failures. Fault codes stored by EBCM/EBTCM can be displayed using Tech 1 scan tester. There are no provisions for flash code diagnostics.Begin ABS/TCS diagnosis with PRE-DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION procedure. If failures are found during pre-diagnostic inspection, perform necessary repairs, and proceed with ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK. See Fig. 5 .If no failures are found during pre-diagnostic inspection, go to ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK. See Fig. 5 . you may have to replace the ball bearings. in an abs ball bearing assembly there is an electronic plug in that goes bad

There is a good chance that the wheel speed sensor, (ABS sensor) has gone bad or gotten to dirty. It's common for the ABS sensor to get too dirty and can not read the speed ring on the wheel hub since it's magnetic. The common repair is to spray Brake Parts Cleaner on the ABS and speed ring on the hub and inspect for damages to the wire harness. The ABS sensor is on the inside of the wheel hub so it's easy to get to, if you not sure what your looking for. Remove the wheel and along the A-arm, you will find a wire harness which leads to the wheel hub (Bearing). There is where your going to find the sensor, just clean it and inspect for corrosion and gap, you can take paper and fold it 5 times and place it between the sensor and speed ring for the proper gap. Good luck and keep me posted, if there is a Auto Zone around your area, have them scan the car just to make sure it's not your ABS modulator which would cast $$$ to replace.

I have the passenger side seat belt which on occassion will lock in the retacted position It has done this twice but I was able to realease the belt moving the strap around. Now nothing I do will release the strap. Is there a mechanical problem I can look at or could there be an electricial issue

Same thing happened with my 95 park avenue a few weeks ago. I talked to a guy I know who is a GM mechanic and he says that the module (the thing on the dash with all the buttons and the temperature display) is broken and needed to be replaced. These computer modules just get funny with age and eventually have to be replaced. You can find one pretty easy on ebay motors. It's not hard to replace, you just have to take apart the dash and take out the old module and put the new one in. Hope this helps!
