SOURCE: Blowing tires on my tag axle
Air leaks around rim or tire valves, bad axle alignment, improperly loaded trailer with too much weight or not properly ballanced front to rear, wrong load range or type of tires (never use passenger car tires on trailers), receiver hitch height is incorrect when loaded (if it's too low it can cause a teeter totter effect on the front axle, if it's too high you shift too much weight over the rear or tag axle and over heat the tires) or the tires could be rubbing on something.
SOURCE: How do you change the bearings on the rear axle of
you have to block up the rear end then pull the cover off the rear end then pull tires and drums off then
go to the punkin and pull the center pin out its a 5/16 or 8mm bolt out slid the pin out then push axles in take the C-clips out then pull axles out
you will need a axle slide hammer to get the bearing out and
then tap the new one in just far enough to get the cyl. in
then put all back to gether
SOURCE: how to remove rear axle on 1998 ford expedition, detailed please!
well if its a straight axle as in just a regular rear end thats something you will want to take some where unless you know exactly what your doing because it involves taking the rearend plate off an d all of that now if it has cv axles in the back that is a different story and the axles are usually either bolted on with about 6 bolts or there is just a ring clip that you got a get a pry bar inbetween the rear end and axle and just give it a good **** and it will pop out
