SOURCE: Blend door not working.

The bleed door controls air temp not where it comes out, dash, floor, defroster, this is most likely a mode control switch problem, that switch is on the ac control head.

SOURCE: 2002 caravan, heater problems

That was a common complaint a few years back, due to the fact that the heater core is a little too much higher than the engine, which requires that extra push it gets when engine RPM's increase. One thing I did do on my Caravan was remove my hoses to the heater core, and use a small external pump with hoses to circulate C.L.R. through my core for a while, then let it sit with CLR in the core overnight.Next day I circulated it through again, both ways by reversing hoses, and then re-attached hoses, bled air out of system, and notice quite an improvement in heat at idle. Once cleaned out, the heater core allowed coolant flow through it better at idle. If your stumped by explanation, take it to an automotive shop, or a Rad shop, and get a quote on flushing that core out for you. I recommend the CLR, but it might be too time consuming for you , but a flush will probably show some noticeable improvement.

SOURCE: i have a 2000 dodge caravan, no heat

Sounds like the air "blend" door might be inoperable. This door opens and closes a specified amount to regulate the amount of either cooled or heated air, as requested by the climate control unit. If the door is continually in the position which is bypassing the heater core (cold setting), the air will not get warm regardless of the condition/operation of the heater core. I'd suggest having this component checked.

SOURCE: 2000 dodge caravan heating problems

if you are sure that your heater core is not restricted. then try to recalibrate the climate control panel. if your a/c system is not working then DO NOT ATTEMPT THE RECALIBRATION it will make your lights on climate control panel flash codes forever.
to reclaibrate the climate control panel just have the engine running. turn the mode to vent, the temp to cold, the blower on high, then press and hold the rear wiper wash and wiper buttons at the same time until the panel lights up then wait about 2 minutes for it to run completly when completed. turn off ignition and then restart the engine try to se if you have heat again. if it doesntwork post the codes it gives you after the calibration test.

SOURCE: 2001 Dodge Caravan heater blows cold air when stopped

Have you checked the coolant level? What you describe is exactly what happens if the coolant level is low. When stopped at idle, hot coolant is not circulating through the heater core, so no heat. As the engine increases in rpm's when you pull away from the light, the water pump is spinning quicker, and some coolant is making it to the heater core. So check the level, and if it is low, keep an eye on it to see if it drops again. That of course indicates a leak somewhere. Get it fixed, as overheating the engine leads to costly repairs and worse case a new engine. Let me know how you make out with this.

Would a bad blend door actuator keep the a/c from blowing cold?

Yes, you have a blend door that switches from the A/C evaporator core over to the heater core. If this door is not moving, you will not get the chilled air passing over the evaporator. You will also have another blend door that switches from fresh air intake to pulling air thru the airbox and across the evap/ heater cores. Either of these could be your culprit.

2000 dodge caravan heater blowing cold air only car does not overheat

Feel the heater hoses where they go through the firewall. If they're both hot but you're not getting any heat, your blend door is not moving to mix heated air with unheated air. It could be the blend door actuator not working or the HVAC control unit not working.

When the ac is on the driver side vent blow only hot air and the passenger vent blow the cold ac air

Usually a sign of low freon or a blend door problem. If the system is full of freon, I would check the blend doors under the dash.

Air blows cold in rear but warm in front vents.

If it is cold in the rear, that eliminates the "freon" part of the system. (It apparently has enough freon and the compressor is apparently working.)

So that leaves you with a blend-air door problem on the front A/C unit. That may be a blend-air door actuator, a broken blend-air door, or a faulty control head. (Proper diagnosis required)

Heater blows cold air

Heater core could be blocked up, or the blend door is stuck on the cold side of the a/c evaporator or the blend door is stuck in the cold position.

When turn my A/C on it just blows hot air

the first thing is to check the fuses, then check to make sure the system has enough freon in it, with out freon the system will not turn on and you will get hot air,and the last thing to check if everything is working correct would be the blend door, make sure it moves from hot to cold air selection.

Hot air blowing in car

sounds like your blend door motor has gone bad. this motor controls the blend door in the heater box that allows eather cold or hot air to flow or a mixture of both. replacing this motor is a big job cause the dash must be moved out to get to the motor.
