Engine wont start

bad connection at battery, or blown fusible link.

check battery for enough cranking power, if battery is below 8 volts, your dash lights will work, but you wont have enough power to start the engine

Sounds like an electrical problem.Start with the battery, then check your selonid and starter.

The starter is bad if you can't jump it
from the battery

Take it out & test it

A mechanic would check for power at the starter and trace back to the key switch. There is a neutral safety switch to keep you from starting the engine in gear that could have failed.

Sounds like your security system is preventing it from starting. Try locking and unlocking the doors with the key to override it. Also check your owners manual on security.

Clicking noise is the sound of the starter being bad and not having enough power to turn the motor over. Replace the starter.

1st check battery terminals to be making connections,next,make sure battery fully charged,then move to fuse box under the hood for burnt battery fuse, then check battery charge,if good,then suspect bad connection to starter (wires) then suspect bad starter. if not that,then try to turn engine over manually by crankshaft bolt to see if cranks locked. thank you for choosing fixya.com

When you say you have power, do you mean the dash lights come on?
The power requirements of the starter motor are a lot higher than that of the dash lights or even the headlights and accessories.

Turn the headlights on and try to start the engine, if the headlights go really dim or right out then your battery doesn't have the capacity that the starter needs to turn the engine over and you need to replace it.

with headlights on, try cranling the engine. I they dim the batt is no good, If they go out, you have a battery connection problem/loose or poor contact on groung(neg) cable. If nothing happens your starter relay is kaput.. Good luck
