If all the gauges on your 2008 Chevy Tahoe have stopped working, it is possible that there may be an issue with the instrument cluster itself. A malfunctioning instrument cluster can cause the gauges to stop working all at once. Other potential causes could be faulty wiring, a blown fuse, or a defective sensor. I would recommend taking your vehicle to a qualified mechanic or dealership to have it diagnosed and repaired.
Check engine light on? Get the codes. Sounds like a 02 sensor or iac sensor or tps sensor. If it is a sensor get it from the dealership not a cheap auto parts store one they dont last if they work at all.
Either its the switch or the motor. Bypass the switch and see if top moves. If it does the switch was your problem. if it doesn't then its the motor. Use to fix VW's religiously stopped when they would not disclose their check engine lite codes. Have to call them for a fee to find out what the code means.
Souds like it's way low on coolant. The heater will blow cold air when the cooling system is so low that there is no water (coolant) running through the heater core. Then the thermostat opens, it trys to be normal but the system is low so it gets too hot in just a few minutes. If its that low, there must be a leak somwhere.
I would either go to a shop or buy a Infrared Thermometer and check the temp of the radiator and the upper radiator housing temp, that's a nice car and expensive to repair, but to blow the engine it would be worth nothing
I suspect that your sender is malfunctioning. Todays speedometers and RPM is sent from a sensor/sender near the drive shaft. A magnet on the drive shaft is sensed and the revolutions are converted to RPM and speed.
If your sending unit is one wire, unhook it from the sender and place a jumper wire from wire to ground. Turn ign on, gauge should pep high PSI. Two wire plug, place jumper between contacts of wires (unplugged). Same thing. What this does is isolate the gauge. If gauge pegs on test, replace sender. If it does it again with new sender, it's the pump. But it's probably the sender.
