If you need a recharge, you have a leak. You will be losing refrigerant 24 hours a day / 7 days a week and need to recharge when it gets low. Most garages and shops offer recharging A/C units from $99 and up. You might want to get an estimate to have the leak fixed before recharging as that would be a "once & done" arrangement. If the leak is in a location that is hard to access, it may cost over $1000 to fix - in which case recharging once or twice a year may not be quite so bad.. Good luck!

the correct one should be smaller, and your recharge hose should be only able to connect to it. the smaller fitting is the low side, and the larger fitting is the high side. recharge only to the low side. the high side is used by technicians with elaborate ac manifold guages to monitor success. these guage kits can be bought at harbor freight for about 55 dollars,and give a better recharge,as you can regulate pressure as not to overfill, which lessens the cooling

The valve to recharge freon is in the top of accumulator and it is the only one available to connect the freon hose, you have to turn the a/c on and set it to the coolest temp. before start to recharge and keep it on while recharging, That's all.

Sounds like your brake switch may be bad.

Some times battery's are beon recharging that recharge wont do it, after you recharge battery turn your lights on, if very dim or dont come on, battery is no good replace it, also try to start it it if lights go off, replace battery.

Look at the hoses on the back of the a/c compr.. there will be a big and a thin hose, the big hose is the lower pressure hose, that's the one you want to recharge your a/c system, stay away from the thin that one is high pressure, follow the big hose, on it you will find the port to recharge the a/c system.
