It should be located on the drivers side under the dash atatched to a few other comp. and should be the first one to remove.All to the left of the steering colum.

Factory anti-theft system is immobilizing the vehicle. Try leaving the ignition on for 15 minutes, this may disarm the factory alarm. The door actuator ,door ajar switch has nothing to do with the
Gear Indicator Light on Cluster .
Did you have the BCM programmed ? Can't just replace this without programming . Having the BCM check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes should have been the first step in the diagnostic's for this problem an testing power an grounds . Is the door ajar light lit on the insturment cluster ? If not ,it's not a door actuator or door ajar switch .
Important: Perform new BCM setup when you replace Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .

RAP relay ,contacts stuck closed . Right I/P fuse box ! Open the passenger door ,at the end of insturment panel pull plastic cover !
dont think its computer,but you have one for engine and another for abs/trac and then body computer, scan engine codes and go from there,hope this helps.
it can be either the tumbler assembly for the key or the body control module. sometimes it times out and you can start it, sometimes not. happened to us with our impala. ended up being the BCM
