Why does the 2010 HHR heat/cool and vent change controls have no response?

Just blows hot air thru the dash vents, will not redirect to other vents or cool

SOURCE: No dashboard heat output

The climate control was poorly designed on these cars.

There is only heat on the floor and defrost settings, due to the layout of the ductwork.

SOURCE: PROBLEM WHEN SELECTING THE DIRECTION FOR THE AIR

Sounds like you have a supply vacuum problem. When you lose supply vacuum to the control head it defaults to defrost.

My 03 h2 has no heat. I get cool air blowing out the vents. My defrost rear vents same thing. Then today all of a sudden, air stopped blowing thru the drv side but all other vents remained the same.

This is most likely due a failure of a part called the air temperature control blend door actuator motor and that is often caused by a sticking blend door that the motor drive operates that has become warped from the heat of the air on heat mode. The dash must come out to repair these parts.

2000 gmc sierra 1500 blow hot air but the air is in the dash not coming out of the vents, why?

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and out thru the vents.

Heat comes thru driver's side vents, but blows cold air thru passenger side vents

You likely have a faulty blend door. It could be electrically, mechanically related, or even a broken door. It may be the blend door motor, or possibly the temp sensor.

Rear Floor Vent heat only

Sounds like your heater coolant hose door flap is broken or loose. May want to check behind the heater controls, if your components are mechanically operated. If electronically, may need to perform more troubleshooting before replacing this component.

There is a flap in your heater box that is controled by your vent switch by your heater controls. listen for a vacuum leak. that is common and hopfully the problem. there is vacuum lines that control the vent door that redirects the air to your vents.

Has your dash been messed with recently? if so i would check there first. you should hear a hissing if thats the problem.

Otherwise these also are common for that door flap to break and not switch NE more. thats the only 2 things that i can think of off th wtop of my head to be the problem. this would require the whole dash to come apart if its this problem
