I gather that you are also locked out of your car, or you could use the trunk release. If you are able to get inside the car, remove the bottom part of the back seat. Then you will see the bolts holding the seat back in place. Remove the bolts and pull the seat out far enough to gain access to the trunk. If you are locked out fo your car, you could try a wire coat hanger pushed down through the driver's door weather stripping at the top of the door. You may have to pry the top of the door out a little and wedge something in there to hold it out. Shove the coat hanger through the weatherstripping and try to activate the door locks or the trunk release.

check the actuator for the trunk release with 12volt power supply if it work you have an open wire or short to battery or short to ground.

try this , drop the back seats down, this will help you gain access to get into the trunk , use a flashlight to help you find the safty release to open the trunk....good luck

please have the door lock check out!- that is a mechanical problem in the lock!

Someone else posted the same problem, so I went out to my Focus and found a way to release the back seats. It is diffecult, but possible, to push the release lever in the trunk with a thin board (like a 4 foot piece of baseboard) through the space between the seats. The release lever is in the upper corner (passenger side) of the trunk. Get something to wedge between the seats and a flashlight. Post the result if this works.
