SOURCE: want to buy a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo 5

It is great. That jingling you hear isn't sleigh bells - it's actually the change left in your pocket after filling the 2007 Chevrolet Aveo's 11.9-gallon fuel tank. This is but one of the joys of driving Chevy's small-but-tall people hauler. The fact that it is (actually) not bad to drive is another. If you're a car-type person, you may remember that the Aveo was all-new in 2004. In a move that shows just how competitive today's automotive world is, General Motors elected to refurbish their entry-level model for its fourth model year. Good thing, too, as the Aveo's competition is just as fresh, and includes solid players such as the Hyundai Accent, the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa and the Toyota Yaris. Bottom Line: Tackles the Fit, Versa and Yaris for less, and still gives you more for your money. Cool Fact*: The Aveo is the most inexpensive car in the market today, but yet it has scored 5 out of 5 stars in crash tests according to NHTSA. Good Luck.

SOURCE: 93 Chevy, gear shift **** between 2nd and 3rd

Remove the fluid - get a good flash light - get a very long screw driver - put the screw driver into the drain hole and force the transmission out of gear. Then remove the Transmission and replace or repair. Cheaper to replace. You bent the forks on the shift mechanism.

SOURCE: My chevy aveo 5 hatchback door wont open what can

I removed the panel on the hatchback from the inside; there's a metal rod that goes from the lever to the latch. You can move the rod to open the hatch. There's a plastic clip that keeps it all together. On mine that plastic clip is broken. Trying to figure how/where to get a new one. You'll need small hands...

Chevy aveo 2007 5door, shift handle feels lose, car goes

if its a 5 speed, yes the shifting is loser than normal cars. the reverse is all jacked up.. if its anything like my 06 aveo when you shift into reverse you have to lift the little circle thing on your shifter up ad act like your putting it into first.. If it grinds try doing it slower. I HATE this transmission. Chevy did a horrible job on picking it. I always grind reverse no matter what

I have a 2008 chevy aveo that won't shift into gear unless we press the shift lock release. What is causing that and how expensive is it to fix?

It could be a few things....I just had this same problem with my 2008 chevy aveo this week. Also, my check engine light came on the very next day after the gear shifter started locking. I called Bob Bell and they told me that the gear shifter locking is probably due to a sensor going bad that tells your car it is in park. However, after taking my car to my brother-in-law (who has very LITTLe knowledge about repairing cars), we discovered that my brake lights were not working either. He told me that is why my check engine light is on - because it is extremely dangerous to drive without brake lights. We checked the fuses to make sure there was no fuse blown and they were all just fine. So bottom line, the problem was that there is a brake switch under your dash board where your brake is. My switch keeps sticking and will probably eventually need to be replaced. When the switch works properly, my brake lights work fine, my gear shifter unlocks and my check engine light goes out. Not sure how much it is to fix this switch if that is the problem but I hope it helps!

Need to take shifter knob off of 2007 Chevy Aveo

There might be an allen-head screw underneath a cover on the "shank" just below the ball...if not, pull UP as hard as you can...it's a pressure fit shifter ball.
