juddering, when>? on ice? with ABS>
or on grass, sand ,dirt or my joke on banana peels?
IF the ABS stays on, there is a problem.
but might be just bad brakes, the ABS is kinda stupid, it dont ,now the brakes are bad, only that they act odd, for ANY REASONS.
Get the brakes (actual) checked, linings, leaks, sticking calipers. or pistons in side or slider, so warped rotor.s
if the ACTual brakes are good, then we test the ABS.
in fact we scan it first to see if is catastrophic errors

How do I identify the cause of an ABS Fault?

First thought is that if you have a judder from the brakes you may have a warped front disc. The ABS system sensor may be picking this judder up and converting it to a fault.
A warped disc would spin and catch then spin and catch again rather like the rapid on/off braking that ABS does. This 'could' be the judder you feel and should be especially noticeable when braking and barely noticeable when driving with the brakes completely off.

What causes brakes judder

Unplug the harness plug to the ABS module under the hood and see if shuddering stops. You will still have an ABS light on the dash but it should not effect normal braking. If shuddering stops the ABS module is bad, also check for any kinked brake lines resulting from accident. Be careful when working with brakes, no excessive speed and be ready to apply hand brake.

Brake juddering, failure: ABS or master cylinder, or anything els

i would say have your abs system bled. this only requires a computer and someone who knows how to use it. after bleeding the abs then the rest of the system should be bled. if you had a bad secer it would set what is known as a hard code and the light would always stay on.

2001 S Type Jaguar ABS and Traction Control fault lights on

Hi First I suggest that you get a diagonostic check on ABS system. and then a visual inspection of the brakes. Warped brake rotors do not make noice, but the steering will start to judder when brakes applied at around speeds from 40 up . Possible cause that the vehile picked up something from road such as nylon/ plastic/stone Mike

Warning lights

You need to have your brakes inspected by a professional. The lights indicate that ABS and traction control are not working...although brakes will work without these features, a humming noise can indicate more problems to come.
