Re: 2004 corolla cigarette lighter, radio, and clock
You may have a short in the dash, i would have it checked by a mechanic, if it is a short it could cause a fire, so you should have it checked ASAP........

lighter will most probably be on its own fuse, which in your case is blown.
radio and clock will probably be on the same fuse, which has blown.
Its important to remember that most radios have their own fuse which is found at the back of the radio.(radio will have to be removed) but try the easy fuse first (in the fuse panel
replace the bulb in the overhead light. the light cover should just pull off (may be a small clip to free it, flathead screwdriver )
Check these two fuses. Fuse number 31 in fuse box location 4, if cigarette lighter, radio and clock. Else fuse number 5 in fuse box location 2, if only radio and clock and not cigarette lighter.
The fuse in postion 32 (15 Amp) in the box under the dash by the steering wheel also powers your cigarette lighter and radio also powers the clock. If only the clock is dead then it is not a fuse issue. This is a very common problem with the 96-05 Corolla clocks. The clocks are very prone to internal failure. The memory wire of the radio,(the power for the clock and channel settings) is usually connected to the same circuit as the cigarette lighter. (there is a seperate fuse for radio) Check your cigarette lighter socket for damage or dirt, etc. could be causing the memory fuse to blow. Also check your cig lighter accesories (like cell phone chargers, etc.)
P.S. The backlight is also a seperate circuit (connected to interior light/parking light circuit)
This is the interior fuse. The fusebox is on the left side under the dash, in front of the door. The fusebox door has a diagram identifying the fuses. Replacement fuses are available from any discount store or auto parts store. Use the correct amperage fuse.
