Does this van have a carrier bearing in the center of the driveshaft? If it does this could be your culprit,you can tell if it has a carrier bearing by looking at the drive shaft in the middle it will around the driveshaft and bolted to floor support of the van.

Try this article. I have the same problem and I think it is the vacuum motor that controls the door for changing from hot/cold in the rear heater box (located inside behind the L rear wheel)

make sure your brake lights work!thats the first step! if so the shift lock solenoid went bad! you can reach on the left side of the cloum and disconnect it to get you going

If you went 1k miles since that same issue occurred I would look at the transmission. A faulty torque converter, clogged fuel filter, or a clogged CAT can cause a delay in the shifting but it would happen right away not 1k miles later.

You need to remove the trans pan to inspect the parking pawl and rod. Hopefully you can adjust or repair with trans in your vehicle.
Also don't assume your cable etc is okey. You don't know that. You may be able to adjust it and be okey.
