Question about 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500
SOURCE: thermostat location 2001 chevy silverado 1500
The thermostat is in the hose on the passener side of the waterpump.It is in the part that has the three 10mm bolts.Please rate my answer, Thank you.

SOURCE: bad heater core
look undre the passenger side dash and you will see a black box. Look closely and you will see screws in it around the edges. remove all the screws then remove the cover,there is the heater core, held in by 1 screw that is kinda hard to see. next look under the hood on the passenger side firewall right in front of the dash, you will see 2 hoses with clamps on them. loosen the clamps and remove the hoses. you may want to drain the radiator first but I never do

SOURCE: process to change fuel pump on 2001 chevy silverado 1500
take the six bed bolt loose and then take three buddies slide the bed back put in the new pump slide it back n place and put the bed bolts back in. if u drop the tank u can easily break the hard plastis lines that go to the fuel tank. u only have to take the fill lines and taillight wires loose this way its alot quicker, and easier.

SOURCE: How to replace a heater core in a 1994 chevy 1500
As with all vehicles it seems the first part that they build around is the heater core. It is under the dash above the floor housed in a black plastic sealed box. Sealed with goop. Locate that box and start removing everything around it that is peventing taking the cover off. Of course disconnect the heater hoses under the hood a thefirewall.
Warning it is never as easy as it sounds.

Not a whole lot different. Just need to keep removing plastic down at the heater until you get to the heater core. Then disconnect it on the firewall side.
