SOURCE: 1995 cutlass supreme transmission

It physically will fit and bolt up,but there are many different ratio, and drive and driven sprocket tooth counts, different final drive ratios, all monitored by the computer with electronic speed sensors. If the trans from the 95 has a different ratio than the 93,the computer will set gear ratio error codes, and possibly put the trans in a failsafe mode, stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear.On the transmission case, down by where the passenger side axle would go in,is a thin metallic tag, maybe 2"x 3",and it has bar codes, and also a series of numbers and letters. The numbers and letters, large cap,are the final drive gear ratio code. They should match on the two transmissions in question.

SOURCE: My 1992 Cutlass Supreme SL Olds failed emissions.

High NOX readings indicate a somewhat lean condition IE: hot exhaust. Possible causes are cracked and leaking vacuum lines or lazy oxygen sensors. If possible have a reputable garage with engine electronics scanner services check the sensor to see if its helping to create the lean condition

SOURCE: falls dead when driving, will restart after awhile

Did you try checking or replacing the coolant sensor? I think you should replace it along with the thermostat. Are there any problems like sputtering or any unusual noises or symptoms? Smoke, anything?

SOURCE: 94 cutlass supreme is overheating, all fluids are

Over heating can be caused by a faulty thermostat and or weak water pump and dirty radiator and old antifreeze or the radiator fan now working when at idle but should not over heat when driving. Service the cooling system if it has never been serviced before. Replace the thermostat, buy some radiator flush to clean out the radiator and heater core. Just follow the instruction and replace the antifreeze and make sure it's a 50/50 mix water/antifreeze. If you not sure how to mix it 50/50 you can buy them 50/50 premixed. Water boils at 100'C so you need antifreeze mixed with it but antifreeze does not have the same heat transfer as water so you cannot run 100% antifreeze cause it does not transfer heat fast enough and you over heat. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, Be glad to help, once you service the cooling system and your still over heating, then we look at the water pump.

Where is the valve cover located and where are the gaskets located?

All of the motors in these were V6s. Think of your engine block as the letter V, at the top of each side of the V are your cylinder heads. Sitting on top of the cylinder heads are the valve covers. The gaskets are located underneath the valve covers and are there to prevent the oil inside from leaking out. Since your car is front wheel drive your engine is mounted transverse. So one valve cover will be near the back of the engine compartment and the other will be toward the front. Hope this helps.

Need to know the firing order of sparkplug wires on a 1995 olsmobile supreme cutlass

For the 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme:
I do not know if you have the 3.1L V6 or the 3.4L DOHC V6; however below are included below:

For the 3.1L V6:
Firing Order:
1-2-3-4-5-6
Cylinders:
........(back)........
|...1......3.......5...|
..........................
|...2.......4......6...|
.........(front)
Ignition Coil Connections:
...........(back)
.|5..2.|..|.3..6.|..|.4..1.|
...........(front)

For the 3.4L DOHC V6:
Firing Order:
1-2-3-4-5-6
Cylinders:
.........(back).........
|...1.......3.......5...|
...........................
|...2.......4.......6...|
..........(front)
Ignition Coils Connections:
..........(back)
.|.1..4.|.|.3..6.|.|.2..5.| (Honestly: I'm thinking it should be 6..3 not 3..6)
..........(front)

How do I remove the back three sparkplugs on 3.1 cutless

There is a tool for it but you can do it lots of ways. First remove the two upper motor mounts that go to the radiator support. Put the car in neutral. Now you have to roll the motor forward. The way i do this is with a tie down strap. If you have a tie down strap hook one end to the engine, one of the lift holes is great, and hook the other end around the front bumper and hook it in a frame hole. Tighten the tie down strap and it will roll the motor forward and hold it there to give you the room you need. If you don't have a strap then you can use a pry bar to roll it forward they wedge a wood block between the alternator and the firewall to hold the engine forward.

I cnt find or get to the back spark plugs of my 1988 olds cutlass supreme 2.8L v-6 front wheel drive where are they and how can i get to them to replace them

On those engines in order to get to the rear plugs (firewall side), you have to remove a bolt from each of the 2 upper motor mounts (they're called dog bones) at the front of the engine and at the same time you take a pry bar and rock the engine forward and put a block of wood between the engine and the firewall. Some dog bones have an extra hole in them so you can slide a bolt in them to hold the engine forward. It sounds like alot of hassle but it isn't that bad. Good luck!
