Landrover immobiliser I cannot find the immobiliser on my 1998 disco/. please help Freddie Horsfield

We do not have diesel LR option in the USA market so have not info.

I have the 1995 Disco, could helpfull? 12 Mb PDF format, give us the email to send it.

towbar on a disco 2 is a straight forward bolt on job it attaches to the rear chassis and crossmember any good quality towbar kit will come with all bolts and washers you need plus instructions . if you get genuine landrover electrics they plug straight in without having to cut or join any wires.

pop rear land rover logo off tail gait latch and works handdle back and forth with some spray lube. should open up.

ur cars fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank on the rear cargo

Shifter Linkage to transmission has to be adjusted.

the rev counter on the 300tdi disco takes its speed signal from a wire connected to the back of the alternator (single spade type connector) this wire usually breaks rewire and should be ok

cruise faults are usually caused by a vacuum pipe splitting check all the vac pipes to the cruise control actuator in the engine bay and at the brake pedal switch of end are split cut off and refit pipe

The belt is loose or dirty or the pullys are of a different V Degree. Check all of these things

Hi,
This is something that will only get worse I'm afraid.
You really need another key made to the original spec. By this - I mean a key cut to code - not just copied, that includes the immobiliser unit.
You can get one from a Land Rover dealership, but will be cheaper from a good locksmiths that cut immobiliser keys to code + program the immobiliser chip.
