Duct tape. That's what it's made for. Get a good quality tape that can take the heat/cold and wont dry out over time. I like the shiny metal foil type. It doesn't dry out, shrink, and fall off.
Don't recommend the regulay handyman's gray duct tape. It dries out and falls off.
You can get it at just about any hardware store. Lowe's has a roll for about $8.
If the split is where the tape can be seen, you might want to get some black HVAC tape. It will hide better.
i almost said that, but figured they wanted it right. as the duct tape loves to fall of hot pipes. and or age fast glue turns to dust and falls off , Jerry rigging is always obvious, most glues dont work on cheap plastic but RTV might, try it.i almost said that, but figured they wanted it right. as the duct tape loves to fall of hot pipes. and or age fast glue turns to dust and falls off , Jerry rigging is always obvious, most glues dont work on cheap plastic but RTV might, try it.
I just removed duct tape off mine yesterday, it turned to crap. PO\'s do that. not me.I just removed duct tape off mine yesterday, it turned to crap. PO\'s do that. not me.

Hi Linda:
If there is cold air coming out of some of the vents then the air conditioner is working.
The problem will be with any of:
- the ducts that connect the vents to the air conditioner,
- the "gates" that allow air into the ducts, or
- The switching or power that controls the gates.
I suggest you try different settings, record which vents are not working under what circumstances, and in that way determine where the problem is. Once you've isolated the problem, it is usually a lot easier to fix it.
Cheerfuls!
Check the 5" wide rubber air intake hose at the convolutes for splits that allow unmetered air into the engine. When this happens, the MAF sensor does not know this air is flowing into the engine, so it leans out the mixture generating DTC codes for Lean, Bank 1 & Bank 2.

Use duct tape for a temporary fix and buy a new air intak hose. This hose runs from air cleaner box to engine throttle body.
If like older style vans it will have second compressor at back of vehicle this probably needs a charge or new compressor
Now the other part is if it has running ducts you need to see if any cracked or split from front to back Run snake cam threw air ducts wont cost anything for a look at any mechanic shop Belts barrings and tensioners check out Pull off belt and turn ac by hand if theres resistance replace compressor Your dryer on system could need a clean out and cabin filter
Check to see if the duct hose to the defroster vents has come loose. If air is blowing out under the dash when you have the control set to defrost, then this is likely.
Your recycle door has broken off and fallen over the suction duct to your blower. You can verify this by removing the blower under the dash on the passenger side. Reach up into the duct and if there is a plastic door obstructing the duct, it has broken off. With a little manuvering you can remove the broken door through this hole and you will have air again, just no control of inside or outside air. Dodge has redesigned the housing for this recycle door which is supposed to stop this from happening. The redesigned housing and door come as a unit from Dodge for about $30.00 and this includes the electric actuator. This requires removing the Dash to change the housing so if your not ready for several hours work, take it to a mechanic.
This is caused by the actuator mounted on the right side of the ducting under the dash on the right.
It is probably a cracked/split gear within the actuator housing.
The actuator is held on by two 5.5mm self taping screw bolts. the acuator itself is held together
by 4 posidrive screws. Carefully remove the actuator, undo the screws lift off the cover and inspect the n ylon gears looking for split/cracked gears.
Repair and replacement in reverse order. Do not power up the actuator until it is fully re-installed.
It is difficult to re-install if the acuator control is not in the neutral or horiztional position.
NB. removal & re-installation is difficult unless one removes rh side ducting and glove box (7 bolts)
and unclip the electrical circut box to the right of central duct-box.
