Ac only comes out of defrost and floor vent, not dash

The ducts have dampers that work off of a vacuum and control the flow of air to the different air vents at the top, bottom and face of the dash. Sometimes the vacuum lines come loose or break. You'll need to look under the dash to see if any of these conditions exist.

Dash vent air flow

Could be a problem with the control on the dash or a blend door under the dash.

A/C-Heater control issues

The head control in the dash is most likely the problem, the control in the dash, will have to be replaced.,only thing you can try would be to disconnect the negative battery cable for 10 seconds and put it back on,then turn the ignition on,then start, see if the controller starts to work again,if not replace the head.

The air will not come out of the 4 main dash vents. The blower works but air will only come out at the dash or the floor. Is there a damper that is stuck

Blend Door Actuator.Should have 2.One will controll the air across the heater core, and the other will adjust air flow direction.

Air conditioning will not come out front dash blowers

Check the plenum door motors (vacuum controllers). When you move control you should see each of them move. the one that does not respond is the one that isn't working. Check hose that feeds it as well if no vacuum there switch control is bad.)

Air doesnt come out of the vents

the linkage that runs the blend door isn't working, these are the doors that control hot and cold and air flow to dash floor ect...they are located in the air box behind the dash ................ you may be able to pull the heater controls out of the dash and spot the problem but it's likely that the problem is in the air box itself and removal of the entire dash is required (big job!!!!!!!!!).........if your vehicle uses vacuum to control this (some gms use vaccum and some a cable)you might have a hose disconnected under the hood by the heater fan.........if it's a cable it may be knocked off at the dash controls or at the other end on the heater box..........sometimes removal of the glove box will give you acess to this connection.
just checked and 88 s-10 is a cable
hope this helps..........thanks fro choosing FIX YA!
