Sounds like an internal pressure problem, check the oil condition(does it smell burnt and look dark brown ) if so get the transmission pressure checked at a garage and possible overhaul may be needed. Good luck big $ required.

Not shifting into gear or out of first gear? Engine races like neutral until trans engages? Need a better description of issue.

Will not shift out of 1st gear, auto trans

If the speedometer doesn't work, then it is your VSS (vehicle speed sensor) and if the speedometer does work then it is your TSS (turbine speed sensor). If the computer doesn't know both the vehicle and transmission speeds, it won't shift out of 1st gear.

My 2003 gmc sierra has a shudder from 1st to 2nd gear it allmost like it slips outa gear for a second and then catces and shifs into second any suggersions on what the problem could be?

I assume it is and auto, if so firstly check auto trans oil level as per manufacturers instructions.
If all OK will need to take it to Auto trans specialist as I suspect removal / overhaul is required.

2000 dodge neon idles fine but when in gear it chokes. Changed plugs and air filter.

Start the car in park when it is running go to reverse back up 10-15 ft then go to drive if it goes forward but won't shift out of 1st gear then it is a trans mision problem not a fuel delivery problem.

Doesn't sound like a simple fix. I would suggest having it serviced.
