No fuel or No sparks...
Can you hear the electric fuel pump run when you start over?
If not, check if the pump recieves power or if filter/hoses are clogged.
Jump power directly to the fuel pump to test the circuit and pump...

Would a crankshaft sensor keep the car from firing an or getting gas..?

It would definitely keep the ignition from firing if it was bad. The computer would think it isn't turning over and the fuel pump won't feed an engine that isn't turning over either.

No fire 2 fuel pump on 2002 suburban

Have you checked the fuel pump relay yet ?
It should have power for three seconds when you turn the key switch on, then power after the engine starts.

1999 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L Replaced starter,

Here is a pic of a schrader valve. They all look about the same.3.jpg
If there isn't much pressure, cycle the ignition without turning the engine over and try again. If it is still weak, you may need a new fuel filter. If it is strong, you may have dirty or clogged fuel injectors.

It may be spark, but I'm inclined to think it is fuel related.

Good luck, and keep us in the loop!

2002 cavalier won't start. 2 months ago changed the fuel pump thinking it was that. It turns over but doesn't turn on.

First step, is it getting spark, and is it getting fuel to the injectors, and are they "firing" the fuel into the cylinders?

2005 Kia Optima that won't start, it keeps trying to fire but won't ignite, some people looked at it and think it might be the starter, trying to get an idea of how much this would cost to repair?

if it will turn over it is not the starter if turns over and will not start it is one of two problems not getting fuel or not getting fire. make sure there is fuel coming to the rail by pushing in on serator valve if equipped if not will have to disconnect the fuel line. this is a coil over ignition system remove one of the coils from the plug pull the plug out and ground it to something medal turn the key over and see if it sparks.

Yes, it's more than likely your fuel pump.

I have a 1993 plymouth grand voyager with the 3.3 engine, it will turn over and fire once, then nothing. do you think the timing jumped or the gear and chain grenaded on me? it ran fine last night and this...

hi from uk let's not think negative waves? and just go back to basic process of eliminating ? what simple causes could be wrong ? if engine fired up then died? could be ignition fault or fuel supply? have you got spark when engine turns over ? if so check fuel ? is fuel pump working/delivering to engine ? from what you described engine did fire but died ? and now turns over but no attempt to start if fuel pump failed ? engine would normally start initially but die when fuel is used up in carb or efi system if you suspect cambelt/chain has failed you would have heard noise as pistons hit valves ?? then when you turn engine over ? it would spin faster with lack of compression does this make sense to your theory? i would think positive and do these diy checks as mentioned above first you may find fault yourself without spending $$$$$s for garage to charge for same checks?
