Looking to see if anyone knows the answer to this. It acts like the throttle sticks when I come to a stop. When I stop the engine stays at around 1300-1400 rpms and the cuts down to low idle. Does not do it all the time. I have cleaned everything and replace the idle control valve and the tps. Any other suggestions.

What model/year?

Had a similar problem with an 87 Blazer, turned out to be a worn mechanical linkage at the gas pedal.

SOURCE: low idle

Most often, dirty or faulty 02 sensors will throw off the idle. The 02 sensors and camshaft position sensor basically control all the idle. If TPS was dirty or bad, you would have some hesitation when giving some gas. Bad plug would cause lack of power or misfire.

Check throttle cable, take the throttle cable off and check if
it is tight. And also check if cable is bent in between one point to the other. A good throttle moves smooth back & forth.
any tape bending or kink in between will cause it to get stuck.

The IAC (Idle air control) is mounted on the throttle body,Your PCM uses this device to control idle speed to compensate for engine load, before you decide to replace it try a throttle body cleaning,(just follow direction on the product you decide to use).

The check engine light is on and the car is idling high and jerking while stopped?Does anyone know whats wrong with it. I have a 2009 chevy hhr. Thanks

No one is going to know what is wrong with it. You must find out why the engine light is on. The PCM has detected a fault in one or more of its systems. In order to know what the fault may be you must retrieve the codes stored in it. Most auto part stores will hook up a generic OBD II code reader for free. But since its an 09, it should be under warranty. If you tinker with it, can't fix it so then take it to the dealer, they may deny your warranty claim because you worked on it first.

TRUCK JERKS AND ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO CUT OFF WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.

Have a place like Autozone check the check engine light for free, see what code pops up. This sounds like a sticking throttle body, clean that puppy with throttle body cleaner with the battery disconnected. When finished, drive around for 20 minutes or so with all the accessories off. The computer will reset at this point.

Return to idle

Sounds like your throttle is sticking, try looking under the hood for a cable that come out of the firewall. WD40

The throttle sticks during the warmer months

The throttle body is located on the driver side of the engine compartment.
If throttle plate has not been clean you might want to get a can of carburetor cleaner, remove the inlet snorkel hose and clean around and behind the throttle plate.
The IAC (idle air control) motor may need to be cleaned. The IAC controls your idle rpm.
Good luck, let me know.
