How to check throtlle body e46 - 2000 BMW 323i

Check the map or the maf

Check the fuse box located inside the motor compartment.

Year, make, model, engine size would be helpful. The TPS would be located on the throttle body on the opposite side ot the throttle cable

FIRST YOU HAVE TO DRAIN COOLANT LEVEL BELOW THERMOSTAT THEN.TO REMOVE THERMOSTAT YOU HAVE TO REMOVE AIR FILTER DUCT AND MAF SENSOR TOGETHER.HAVE TO DISCONNECT ACCELERATOR CABLE AND TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE FROM THROTTLE BODY BRACKET. YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THROTTLE BODY UNIT REMOVE THE SMALL COOLANT HOSES FROM THROTTLE BODY,YOU NEED TO GO TO DEALERSHIP TO BUY THE SMALL COOLANT HOSES ATTACHED TO THE THROTTLE BODY.WHEN YOU REMOVE THE THROTLLE BODY UNIT.THEN YOU CAN REMOVE THERMOSTAT HOUSING TO REPLACE THERMOSTAT.YOU NEED TO BUY NEW THROTTLE BODY GASKET DONT REUSE OLD ONE.IF DO YOU WILL GET A VACUUM LEAK AND HAVE HIGH IDLE PROBLEM.

dirth throttle body sounds like the culprit, disasseble and clean or run some fuel injector cleaner through gas tank.Make sure throttle cable is not sticking at throtlle body also

check to make sure they sold you the right fuel pump. they are two pumps for a 4.3 ones a vortek and one is a throtlle body. the eighth digit of the vin will tell you one is a vin w and one is a vin z. the throtlle body only puts out about 11psi of pressure and the vortek puts out about 60psi of pressure.if you put the throttle body pump in a vortek engine there is not enough fuel pressure to run it.

{: ) I presume that your a/c compressor is not seized in any degree, for you can hear squeaking noise from belt when a/c on. I suggest you check the throtlle body for carbon build-up. Clean it with carburetor cleaner and afterwards perform an idle reset. You may clean the air filter as well.

I would check to see if you are getting power to the fuel pump itself, might have a bad fuel pump relay.

try to clean the throtlle body or it could be the iac valve

Three steps to remember a car need air fuel and spark to run ... check your ignition coil and distributor for spark ..... if everything ok check the fuel pump and make sure it works ..... a slight hit to the tank or pump itself could help it start ....dont beat it though.... Hope this helped
