The radio and accessory going off is normal in start mode.
I hope it’s an automatic. If not check the clutch pedal switch.
1. Move the shifter to neutral and park.
2 check for an aftermarket alarm under the dash.
3. Bad starter is the last thing to check.
Of all these I lean to an alarm under the dash.

SOURCE: 2005 Toyota Corolla Car Alarm Problem

you may have to disconnect the battery for a minute or so ,this will reset the alarm. check your remote it does have a battery in it. otherwise you have to look for a fuse somewhere under the dash close to the fuse box.each one is diff. depending if it original toyota or aftermarket alarm.

SOURCE: Blew a fuse that powers radio/clock/lighter in

there is a fuse box under the dash on the drivers side. it is very hard to reach. it is located above your left knee when you are seated in the drivers seat. lay on your back, look up under the dash, use flashlight. The lid for the fuse box has a diagram showing which fuse goes to the radio.

SOURCE: My 2006 Toyota Corolla won't start. When I turn

Car batteries are very powerful. It's not uncommon for lights and radios to work eventhough the battery is too weak to turn over the engine.

I would try to find someone to give you a jump start. This would atleast help determine if the battery/charging system is the problem.

If it does jump start, let it idle for 10 minutes or so, then turn the engine off and try to start without a jump start. If it does start that would mean that the alternator is working properly. But, if it doesn't start you could have a bad alternator.

If you are able to get the car to a parts place most of them offer a free diagnostic test on batteries and alternators.

I hope this is helpful.

SOURCE: Toyota Corolla 2006; Dash lights not working and

I had the same issues. Dash dead, tail lights dead. Fuses were fine, Dimmer relay was fine...So I got to the Tail Light Relay.

Removed the glove box, one screw on the right. Reach up (above the space where the glove box 'area' would be and there are 3 or 4 relays all sitting on top of a junction box. All of them were loose. I pushed them in...and voila! I was getting scared after the obvious.

2010 corolla key stuck in ignition

It can be faulty ignition lock cylinder.I suggest to wiggle the steering wheel a bit and see if the key gets released out.If that is not helping then first turn steering wheel to right and try removing the key,or next turn steering wheel to left and see if you can remove the key.
----------
Spray wd-40 in the ignition key hole and let it remain there for few minutes, after that once again try to remove the key and see if that helps.
---------
But if that is not helping then ignition lock cylinder has to be removed out and key has to be manually removed.

I put the keys in ignition, but switch wont turn to start car: as if switch is locked

Sometimes the cause of this is the steering wheel is turned to the left or right when you shut the engine off and it holds pressure against the steering lock mechanism. Try turning the steering wheel hard to the left or right while trying to turn the key and see if that solves your problem.

Key will not turn 2005 toyota corolla

try holding the steering wheel hard over to the left, then turn the key. still not working? turn hard over to the right, turn the key. still not working? spray WD40 or whatever lube you have laying around in the ignition, just a wee bit. work the key in and out of the ignition. Still no work? Try one of your back up keys.

My 2005 toyota has check engine light on i want to turn it off and it seem as if my auto transmission is changing gears with a pull

First you must know what has set the check engine light. Then you must test the given sensor and the circuit that controls it and perform the proper repairs and then reset the computer with a scan tool. These scan tools can be bought for about $100, the plug for the scan tool should be just under the edge of the dash near the steering wheel.

I can insert the key and can not turn to start the vehicle

Hello, and welcometo FixYa.

Try turning the steering wheel to the left or right, turn it with some real force, and then turn the key.

You may have the anti-theft device in the steering wheel activated.

The humming noise you hear is the fuel pump. It is probably your starter soleniod. If you hear an electric click under the dash near the steering column when you turn the key then the ignition switch is ok and your starter needs to be replaced. This happened to me last month.

2005 Toyota Corolla Radio fuse

Pg. 250 of your 2005 Owner's Manual shows the location of the Fuse Boxes. There is one under your hood on the driver's side and the other is under the dash just to the left of steering wheel. Pg 272, will show you how to replace the fuses. Pg. 286-287 gives a diagram and description of each fuse and what part of the electrical system it enables.
This portion of the electrical system correspondeds to the fuse in position 32 on pg. 287 of the manual.
Your going to have to get on your back with a flashlight and open up the fuse box under the dash by the steering wheel. The lid of the fuse box shows the positions of the fuse and their amperage rating. Like I said, replace the fuse in postion 32 (15 Amp). There is a spare 15 Amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood (easy to get to, see the diagrams in the owner's manual). There is also a fuse puller tool next to the spare fuses.
