My 98 mustang will start up fine but this morning when i started it up it fired right away but then i push in the gas and the car starts to sputter and then eventually turn off. i have tried multiple times to get it going but always ends up turning off

Check for water in the system. This is a talltale sign of bad gas in your car. You should also check the air filter, air hose, and sensor and also make sure that they are properly secured

have fire at coils no fuses burnt check fire could be crank sensor cuts fire and fuel do you have a reset on this model near kick pad pass side or in the trunk pass side near rear lights in trunk a safty switch you push on it it could be popped

Sounds like you may have a fuel leak, somewhere! It could be out onto the (surroundings), or into the motor. If the exhaust smells like fuel, I would almost bet it's leaking into the engine, and would have to guess that one or more of your fuel injectors are "seeping".
When was last tune up? Plugs, wires, all fluids & filters? Especially fuel filter? I'd start there and run a good fuel system cleaner (Stp. Gumout, etc..) through it and avoid cut-rate fuel
