My sister has a 2001 ford focus and yesterday when she was driving it home, the car stopped in the middle of traffic. i tried starting it but hope no luck. please help me before the car is towed.

Did you check your oil level? Maybe your oil pump stopped working? I wouldn't drive the vehicle till you figure out the problem? I hope you don't have any internal engine damage?

I'd be calling Ford on this one. They have GOT to know something about it. don-ohio

sounds like 'vapor lock' try leaving your gas cap loose

could be as simple as the gas cap, get the car scanned for codes, i would say a minor repair

MOST OF THE TIME WHEN YOU HEAR STARTING GRINDING NOISE CHECK MAKE SURE STARTER BOLTS IS TIGHT NOT LOOSEN OR MISSING ONE.CHECK STARTER DRIVE GEAR AND FLY WHEEL FOR BROKE OR DAMAGED TEETH.IF ALL LOOKS GOOD STARTER NEED SHIMMING.YOU CAN BUY STARTER SHIMS AT AUTO ZONE OR ADVANCE AUTO PARTS.
