Question about Honda Accord

1 Answer

90 Honda Accord will not crank or start. It has full power, checked fluids, pulled main relay and it looks fine. Starting to think it might be the starter but it was just replaced a few months ago.

You might want to check to see if it has fire if not it is probally the timming belt if it does have fire then you need to chek your fuel pump spray some strating fluid in the intake where the air filter is and if it starts then it probally your fuel pump

About the only thing you didn't mention was the starter itself. You could have it tested. But before that, try to see if you have power on the small wire to starter solenoid on the starter, when key is held in cranking position. Pull the small wire off and check for power with a multimeter or a testlight while someone holds the key in crank. This is the signal wire from ignition switch that closes the elec. contacts inside solenoid so the starter gets full power from the battery to spin. (This wire also is in the circuit with the clutch switch and the starter relay.) If you have power on this wire in crank, it is very likely the starter is bad. If there is no power, check that circuit out. It is losing power somewhere from switch to starter solenoid. Good luck.

A 94 accord cranks but no start sometimes i shot it w starting fluid and it runs fine could it be the injection relay?

I would put a fuel pressure gauge on the car. It sounds like it might be a fuel pump or fuel pressure issue. It is possible that it is the relay, but you can check that easily by switching it with another relay.

1994 Honda Accord, idles rough, but it has an intermittent problem of not starting. Most of the time you turn the key and it starts right up but once in a while, you turn the key and it makes a different...

You should try replacing the fuel pump main relay, all the symptoms you are explaining point to the relay. I just went through the same problem with my 90 accord, replacing the main relay make it start perfectly every time.
good luck

Car will not start...its not the starter...but acts like its not getting fuel

Try replacing the fuel pump main relay. My 90 accord had the same problem when the main relay went bad, it would take almost 10 tries to start. The Fuel pump main relay is located under under the dashboard on the far left side. The main relay is held in by a 10 or 12 mm bolt. It is small, grey, and says mitsuba main relay on it. replacing this should fix your starting problem. Also check all fuses.
Hope this helps

My 1991 honda accord won't start after it has been

Start with this at the time it wont start and only cranks over squirt some starting fluid in the intake if it starts and then dies out you have a fuel problem. If youve never changed out the fuel filter that would be a good place to start. If after you squirt some starting fluid in it and it doesnt even start check for spark at the plugs then at the coil and so on. Dont get to stuck on the relay if the relay was bad it wouldnt even start also if you have a way to check the fuel pressure check it and make sure its within specs.

1991 Honda Accord cranks but will not start

I think you should check the air filter or air intake. It seems like it's not gettin and air to start since when you spray the starting fluid it's runs but stop and it stalls. I think that it's the air supply for the car.

Check out this link. I just type you a long paragraph on here but i don't think it took. Anyway, It was the main relay located under the steering wheel. Same thing was happening and the car cranks fine after replacing it. 25 dollar part.
